After trying their
Retinol Cica Repair Ampoule and
basically being a brand fan girl, I knew I had to get my hands on
innisfree's newest little trio.
For those of you who are yet to dive into the magical world that is K-Beauty, allow me to take you on a super quick crash course.
Notorious for nurturing the barrier, pumping your skin chock-full of hydrating ingredients, and delivering enviable results in just a few short steps, it’s no wonder K-Beauty is taking the world by storm.
From
snail mucins and scented serums, to
cherry blossom creams, jelly moisturisers and hydrating ampoules, Korean skincare will give you that
glass skin glow, without compromising your barrier.
But be weary – once you start using Korean skincare, you'll never go back.
However, if like me, you want the results (and you want them yesterday), and the mere thought of a 10+ step skincare routine often exhausts you, then I’ve found just the thing for you.
This set strips your routine back down to basics, promising to reinforce hydration and achieve a plump, glowy-looking complexion.
Let’s see how this 3-step routine measures up, shall we?
Step 1: innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Treatment Essence.

Fast facts:
This fast-absorbing essence encourages a brighter, clearer and more radiant complexion, thanks to innisfree’s unique Black Tea Peptide Activator.
Packed full of rich antioxidants that help promote healthy skin turnover and improve skin tone and texture.
Retexturises rough, dehydrated skin.
My innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Treatment Essence Review:
While I love K-Beauty, I’m somewhat ashamed to have to admit that I’ve never used an essence before.
Suffice to say, after scratching my head over where to use this concoction in my routine, a quick google search revealed that it wasn’t as intimidating as I had assumed.
To get the best results from your essence, simply use it where you normally would a toner.
Easy peasy.
After cleansing, I applied several drops into the palm of my hand before gently pressing the essence into my face, neck and chest.
My skin has been so dehydrated from the ever-changing weather conditions here in Melbourne that it drank up this essence in a matter of seconds.
In fact, the essence went on so smoothly and was so fast absorbing, that I’m sure if I had more than a 25ml bottle, I would’ve applied it all over my body.
It left behind no sticky residue, and my skin felt comfortable and soothed.
More brownie points incoming! If you’re a fellow sensitive skin haver, fear not; despite what the name might suggest, this essence is completely scent-free.
Win-win.
Step 2: innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule.

Fast facts:
Change of season got your skin feeling less than average? This uber-potent serum promises to improve the appearance of dull, tired-looking skin while retaining moisture while you sleep.
Creates a protective barrier as you catch those Z’s, allowing you to wake up with skin that’s smoother, glowier and plumper.
Recommended for all skin types, especially those with dehydrated skin and anti-aging concerns.
My innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule Review:
Once my essence had fully absorbed into my skin, I wasted no time in reaching for this ampoule.
After hearing the many good things it promised, I honestly wondered how it could possibly deliver.
Well, after applying the recommended 5 drops to my face and neck, I can promise you that innisfree’s words are as good as gospel.
Upon waking up, my skin looked so plump, so glass-like and so hydrated that I honestly considered skipping my AM skincare routine to bask in the glowiness just a little longer.
I mean, would you get a look at this glow?!

The texture is thin yet buttery and like its predecessor, it absorbs in a matter of seconds.
Once absorbed, I noticed my skin was instantly softer and more supple.
If you have ultra-sensitive skin that doesn’t play nicely with fragrance, keep in mind that this ampoule is scented.
The scent is nothing too overpowering; instead it’s more of a subtle, fresh scent that doesn’t linger on the skin for too long, or burn the hairs of your nostrils each time you catch a whiff of it.
While I haven’t noticed any fine lines or wrinkles beginning to make themselves known on my skin just yet, I’ll definitely continue using this product for its moisturising and brightening properties.
TLDR; on nights when I know that 8 hours of beauty sleep just won’t cut it, I’ll be reaching for this serum.
Step 3: innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Cream.

Fast facts:
The final step in this trio, this cream promises to lock in hydration as you sleep.
This deeply nourishing formula helps to relieve feelings of tightness, discomfort and dehydration whilst firming the appearance of your skin tone and texture.
Packed full of powerful antioxidants and anti-aging compounds, this cream is recommended for all skin types (however dehydrated skin havers and those with anti-aging concerns will benefit from this product the most).
My innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Cream Review:
One thing about me – there are few things I love more in this world than a thick, nourishing night cream.
So, suffice to stay, after using the Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule, I slathered the most generous amount of this moisturiser into my face and neck.
My skin felt instantly nourished, hydrated and comforted.
Despite being incredibly rich, the cream holds more of a gel-like texture that sinks into the skin quickly.
If your skin is as dehydrated as mine, your skin will soak it up almost instantly.
For those of you who have also used (and adored) the
innisfree Cherry Blossom Jelly Cream 50ml, you’ll love this.
This cream has a scent similar to that of the ampoule – nothing too overpowering, moreso something soft, subtle and fresh.
The Black Tea Youth Enhancing Cream acted as a barrier for the ampoule and essence, locking in all the moisture and goodness so I could wake up looking (and feeling) like a dewy little dumpling.
I can see this cream becoming a regular in my PM routine; both in the freezing winter months and on nights when my skin is feeling extra thirsty.
