Am I right in saying we all want juicy, plump, healthy-looking skin?
The type of skin that looks like you drink celery juice in the morning and religiously consume eight cups of water daily?
Korean skin care is known for delivering that dewy, hydrated, smooth "glass skin" effect.
K-beauty brands like innisfree were actually my first introduction to having a skincare routine, because they're fairly affordable for the quality, and you can buy them in little routines depending on your skin concerns.
But let’s be real, a 10-step Korean skincare routine? My attention span could never.
Plus, somewhere along my skincare journey, I kind of turned into a skincare snob.
Cosmeceutical ONLY. Give me all the active ingredients.
But when innisfree launched their 'black tea' range, one product in particular piqued my interest: the Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule.
Why? A few reasons, like how the serum promises to plump tired skin while you sleep.
But also because I heard through the grapevine it might just be an alternative for an exxy cult night serum that shall remain nameless...
Of course, I had to suss it out.
Keep scrolling for my innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule review.

But First, Let's Quickly Recap innisfree Australia.

innisfree Australia is a natural Korean skincare brand inspired by the beauty of their clean and pristine Jeju Island.
All of their ingredients are sourced from Jeju’s beautiful land, sea, water and flora, and are designed to deliver results through potent active ingredients, without destroying your skin barrier.
Innisfree products are really well-priced, with masks starting from $4 (yep!) and cleansers from $13.
The packaging gives you that luxe feel, but it's all colour co-ordinated based on the ranges for different skin concerns too, which makes it easy to find what you need.
Bija Cica for acne-prone skin is blue, brightening Cherry Blossom is pink, the Volcanic range for pores is a charcoal stone, Green Tea for hydration and protection is... green.
The most popular and best innisfree products include cult favourites like the best-selling innisfree green tea seed serum and innisfree pore masks, plus the innisfree jelly cream for glowy skin that went viral on TikTok.

What Is the innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule?

Like the world’s shortest resume, everything you need to know about the innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule is right on the bottle.
INNISFREE Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule 50ml promises to firm, revitalise, brighten and moisturise to make the skin feel and appear more youthful or healthy.
But... what is an 'ampoule', you ask?
Ampules are a common type of serum in Korean skincare that's more concentrated.
Think of ampules as your serum's older, wiser, more productive sister who's great at time management.
You can learn more about Korean skincare products and what they do in this YouTube video below.
What's in the innisfree black tea serum?
  • Reset Concentrate™ - A powerful antioxidant extracted from fermented Jeju Black Tea that's infused in 80-degree mineral water for 12 hours to nourish and brighten tired skin overnight.
  • Night Defense Formula™ - Provides the skin with a protective barrier to target stressed, fatigued skin.
  • Some other ingredients you might recognise include hydrating glycerin, brightening niacinamide or vitamin B3, moisturising squalane and super hydrator hyaluronic acid.

How to Use innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule.

The brand says anyone with any skin type can use this serum, but people who have dehydration and age management/anti-ageing skin concerns will especially love it.
Think of this product as the hydrating or all-rounder serum step in your skincare routine.
You can apply to cleansed skin morning and/or night, either on top of your exfoliating treatment or vitamin C serum in the AM, or on its own.
You only need three to five drops of the concentrated ampule, and follow with the matching innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Cream 45ml for the ultimate glazed donut look.

My innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule Review.

Here are my first impressions of how this serum looks and feels:
  • Comes in a luxe glass bottle, not the best for travel but it makes my routine feel extra bougie.
  • The ampule consistency is slightly thicker than the average serum.
  • When first applied, it feels like a sleeping mask before absorbing into the skin within a minute.
  • Scent is undetectable on the skin, but straight from the bottle, it reminds me of the herbal remedies my grandpa used to cook up.
  • Formula leaves the skin feeling like it just gulped down a glass of water, but surprisingly dries pretty matte, which my oily skin appreciates.
You can see the serum texture and consistency on the skin in action right here.

As for my review, well, I never knew I needed the INNISFREE Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule 50ml until I first used it.
A few Sundays ago, I went on a mini adventure, dabbled in a few rockpools and topped it off with a tortuous walk back to the car.
On the ride home, I remember thinking I couldn’t wait to get home to use the black tea ampoule on my parched skin.
That says a lot, because my skin type is normal verging on oily, and I rarely like any hydrating products, let alone look forward to using one.
But this, I LOVE.
The instant glow is undeniable, but I also really love how supple and hydrated the serum makes my skin feel.

Final Verdict...

You might've guessed by now which cult night serum the innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule sounds similar to...
We're not naming names here, but you've definitely seen this luxe-looking bottle on your IG feed.
So, are the rumours true? Well, they definitely aren't the same. But what I can say is they're very similar.
This might be super controversial, but I've tried a lot of expensive hydrating night serums and personally, I feel like my skin (and my bank account) prefer the innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Ampoule.
And at $74 for a 50ml bottle, why not give it a go and decide for yourself?
I highly recommend this does-everything serum if signs of ageing, fatigue and dullness are skin concerns of yours.
I've been using it nightly ever since I got it, and my face has never felt juicier.
