The festive season is upon us and with it comes
joyous celebrations, late nights, long travel days, family gatherings, and the all-too familiar festive fatigue that feels like it’s etched itself into our skin and spirit.
For women over 50, this time of year also brings a heightened desire to feel, energised, radiant and truly well both inside and out.
That’s why I’m personally sharing my go-to
beauty from the inside-out essentials to support your well-being, energy, skin vitality and overall healthy ageing. The glow that starts deep within.

This year, we’re combining nourishing rituals, joyful wellness habits, and standout products (right here on
Adore Beauty) that I know will be your festive season must-haves.
This might have to be Part 1, as my goodness I’ve a LOT to say about this topic. So this year, I’ve curated a powerhouse list of wellness essentials, from
ingestibles and hydration boosters to stress-support and
sleep aid plus
smart skincare support to help you glow this season.
These rituals and products will help support your radiance, energy, immune health, sleep quality and overall wellbeing, because beauty truly begins inside. Let’s dive right in...
Best ingestibles to elevate your inner glow
Beautiful skin isn’t built in a bottle of serum, it begins with how we nourish and support our body from the inside. Especially as collagen production naturally declines with age, supporting this process with powerful nutrients can be a game-changer for mature skin.
Beauty & Collagen Boosters

Pro Tip: Take these in the morning or with lunch for best absorption, and pair them with Vitamin C-rich foods (like berries or citrus) to maximise collagen formation. Your skin will thank you.
Why this matters: Trends show ingestible beauty products that promote skin health from within, like marine collagen and vitamin-rich supplements, are one of 2025’s biggest wellness movements.
2. Daily wellness rituals to incorporate.
Hydration Ritual
Hydration is your silent skin hero: it supports digestion, plumps the skin, and keeps energy sustained during long party days. My festive favourite? Start every morning with a large glass of water — add a slice of lemon or a splash of coconut water for electrolytes.
Antioxidant Tea Breaks
If your idea of self-care includes moments of calm during a chaotic day, here are a few of my top healing cuppa tea picks: Green tea, rich in EGCG antioxidants, helps combat oxidative stress and inflammation, key players in skin ageing. Aim for 1–2 cups daily.

Pro Tip: Pair your tea time with a few mindful belly breaths, even just 5 slow “balloon belly” breaths can reset the busy mind. Puffing your belly out like a balloon can help reset stress hormones.
3. Weekend Wind-Down & Movement Rituals

Even amidst celebrations, carve out 30 minutes before bed for calm: • Gentle stretching, laying over a Pilates ball or roller (place ball under your shoulder blades - kinda wear your bra strap sits - and breathe. It’s heaven for a busy mind and a sore lower back!) • A warm magnesium bath • Herbal tea • Turning off screens early. Boring but essential.
I know, it’s elusive at our age - but make this your priority. As sound sleep not only boosts your mood and energy but also supports skin repair and regeneration, which is essential during the busy festive season.
Pro Tip: Try 5 minutes of morning mobility before breakfast, it boosts circulation, lymph flow and energy for the day ahead. Or put your weary legs up a wall, and breathe for 5 minutes before bed (promise you’ll sleep a whole lot better!)
4. Beauty-from-the-inside-out support for sleep & stress. Because Rest equals radiance.
Hormones, stress and disrupted sleep can show up as dull complexion, puffiness and fine lines, especially after holiday gatherings. While there aren’t many ingestibles directly on Adore Beauty for sleep, pairing your skincare with calming lifestyle choices and stress-supporting products will truly help you shine.

My tips:
Stay consistent with sleep routines (even if festivities push your schedule a little, rein it back in the next day).
Manage stress with short meditation sessions, apps like Calm or Headspace are gold, I’m a long-time lover of Yoga Nidra, a 20 minute guided meditation practice that brings you back to life with steadiness and calm.
Include light movement during the day, get up and go for a walk. It doesn’t need to be epic; a gentle walk will kick start digestion and energy.
Restful sleep = beautiful skin and balanced hormones. Add soothing support into your evening:
WelleCo The Evening Elixir 150g Chocolate - A decadent sleep-support blend with magnesium, L-theanine and reishi mushroom to help calm the mind and support restorative sleep.
JSHEALTH Magnesium - 60 Tablets- A magnesium formula designed to support muscle relaxation, nervous system calm and sleep quality.
Switch Nutrition L-Carnitine Powder (100 Serves)- A magnesium powdered option targeting calm focus, mood balance and sleep support. I just discovered this brand at the most recent Chermside Brisbane Store opening. Loving it!
Shhh Silk Eye Mask - Luxurious mulberry silk eye mask to block light and support deeper sleep. I’ve been sleeping in a mask for years now, can not recommend them highly enough. I know sometimes it’s just not cute … but this girls sleep depends on it!
Shhh Silk Silk Pillowcase Queen Size- Silk pillowcase that helps reduce friction (so good for hair and skin) and my opinion, feels bougie and glorious - therefore enhances my beauty sleep. Treat yourself!
Pro Tip: Create a “sleep sanctuary”, cool room, fancy pyjamas, no screens 30 minutes before bed, have a calming drink or magnesium supplement to signal your body it’s time to unwind, and no screens on waking.
I can hear ya all groan - listen, I’m so far from perfect here, I too fall off the wagon on the regular but when I make an effort weekly to do this, game-changing. Plug your phone into your ensuite or outside your bedroom so you can hear that alarm go off, but remove the temptation to late-night or early morning scroll.
5. Pro tips for women over 50 this festive season
Consistency beats intensity. Short daily rituals (a collagen drink, hydration habit, a gentle walk) will reward you more than sporadic “high intensity” complex routines. My Physiotherapist, Libby at
Glow Physio delivers fabulous 10 minute workouts. No excuses gals.

Protect your skin, always. Think … UVA accelerates ageing therefore SPF is still your best anti-ageing secret. Seriously. Find a sunscreen you love, and wear it.
Eat for skin health. Include colourful vegetables, omega-rich foods (like oily fish or walnuts
Dr Karen Coates once told me that 2 - 3 walnuts a day keeps the aging brain healthy, I have a jar in my fridge at all times (they look like little brains, right!) And antioxidant-rich berries feed your skin from within, I’m not sure you can OD on these either!
Rest is radiant. Sleep helps cellular repair and keeps stress hormones in check and that keeps your skin calm and glowing.

My Silly Season Ritual “Flow” - remember it doesn't need to be perfect but being consistent will help you thrive.Morning: Hydrate + collagen drink + movement
Midday: Antioxidant tea + mindful pause
Afternoon: Light walk + stretch
Evening: Wind-down magnesium or Evening Elixir + silk sleep setup
Enjoy yourself! Festive joy, laughter, great company, and rest are all wellness too. If you’re flying solo, find things to watch that make you laugh hard.
