In Partnership With Vida Glow.
Not to immediately make it about me—but I’m going to anyway—recently, I entered the final year of my twenties. Twenty-nine and (mostly?) fine.
I don't know, it's one of those weird, in-between ages that doesn't feel particularly monumental. Not quite thirty, but not exactly mid-twenties either. I know, it's tough.
Naturally, as birthdays do, I found myself reflecting on life and some of its biggest questions.
Such as, “Am I too old to eat cake for breakfast?”
And, “Is it still acceptable to request the bumper rails at bowling?”,
But, more importantly... “Is now the time to start really taking care of my body?”
You know, like really take care of it, and not just the outside.
If there’s one "beauty" battle I’ve always fought (well before this birthday), it’s hydration.
No amount of hand cream can quench these thirsty palms, nor body lotion for these flaky legs. They help, sure, but topicals only go so far–which is where supplements come in.
Experts say that your mid-to-late twenties is an ideal time to incorporate supplements into your regimen to help support your body's natural processes as they shift–whether it's related to collagen production, metabolism, hormones, or otherwise.
I’d heard the hype surrounding Vida Glow’s award-winning Marine Collagen, but it was one of those things I mentally filed under “I’ll get to that later.”
Then the universe intervened. Vida Glow's new Pro Collagen + and Radiance + capsules landed on my desk, and I knew it was time.
My mum came to mind–as someone who spent her youth sunbathing without a single drop of SPF, she’s been battling pigmentation for years.
The new Radiance + capsules, designed to tackle pigmentation and improve texture, felt like the perfect opportunity for a mother-daughter road test.
It took a little convincing (my mum is camera-shy—a trait I obviously didn’t inherit), but with her blessing, I’ve documented her and my experiences below.

While I’m grateful for the many good genes my mum passed down, I could’ve done without a few—like my perpetually dry skin, fine hair, and that bizarre habit of sneezing in sunlight (I know, weird).
With my skin's natural tendency toward dehydration and dullness, I’m always on the lookout for anything promising that elusive fresh, dewy glow.
I’m not showing major signs of ageing yet–although those once-faint forehead lines are starting to look far too comfortable up there–but with collagen production starting to slow down, I figure prevention is my best strategy.
Vida Glow Pro Collagen + has been an effortless addition to my morning routine over the past three weeks.
Its sleek, chrome packaging passed the cute enough test to earn a permanent space on my kitchen bench. That's no easy feat (just ask my fiance's air fryer).
The powder itself is tasteless and easy to mix into whatever I’m drinking—water, smoothies, juice. It doesn’t completely dissolve, but if you toss it back quickly, it’s done and dusted without any weird aftertaste.

Now, for the results—and I’m happy to report, they won this former collagen sceptic over.
With the seasonal shift drying out my skin, Vida Glow has been helpful for hydration, keeping things smooth and warding off that dreaded crepey, lacklustre texture.
My fine hair, which always struggles when it comes to strength, feels healthy and is growing fast (see: my regrowth).
I also happened to have a 'hair diagnostic' scan recently which confirmed my theory: these tresses are hydrated and happy.
As for my nails, I've recently transitioned to press-ons and usually when I replace or remove them my nails underneath feel fragile and papery, but since taking the Vida Glow collagen, they're much more resilient – a BIG win.
But enough about me, let's check in on Mum.

Mum’s Vida Glow Radiance + review:

"I've tried my fair share of skincare products and treatments over the years to help my pigmentation, so I was keen to give the Vida Glow Radiance supplements a go.
After three months of taking it daily with lunch, I’m pleasantly surprised by the results.
The capsules are easy to take, completely tasteless, and gentle on the stomach, with no aftertaste or digestive issues. I have a pretty sensitive stomach!
I've noticed a real improvement in my skin; it looks more radiant and smoother, and I’ve seen a reduction in pigmentation and discolouration.
Those stubborn spots from years of raw sun exposure are beginning to fade, which is a lovely bonus.
What’s more interesting is that I feel healthier and more energetic, especially after coming out of a long winter where I wasn’t at my best. Whether it’s the supplements or just the changing season, as a grandmother of three under three, I'll take it!
Overall, I’m very happy with my experience and plan to keep using Radiance +.
It’s been a positive addition to my daily routine." - Kimberly Riley.
