How To Use SkinCeuticals Pure Retinol?

1. What Is Retinol?
Retinol benefits the skin by stimulating cell regeneration and build's collagen to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, from both photo – and intrinsic – ageing. Additionally, they help minimise the appearance of pore size, while correcting blemishes and blotchiness often associated with problematic skin.

3. How To Pick The Right SkinCeuticals Pure Retinol Product?
Skinceuticals has two different strengths of retinol. SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5 30mL is a lightweight formulation which contains o.5% retinol. Although results may be less intense, SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5 30mL will promote the same benefits as SkinCeuticals Retinol 1.0 because of its progressive properties. SkinCeuticals Retinol 1.0 contains 1% retinol, the highest concentration currently available, and should only be used for advanced treatment of skin already conditioned by a lower-concentration retinol.

4. How To Use SkinCeutical Retinol
If your skin is sensitive to retinol, begin by limiting use to once or twice a week, then gradually increase frequency to every other night, and finally once an evening as tolerated.
- Apply a pea-sized amount of Retinol 0.5 or Retinol 1.0 to thoroughly cleansed skin in the evening.
- Carefully avoid the eyes and the corner of the eyes.
- To ensure optimal results, do not use any corrective or moisturizing products the same evening as applying SkinCeuticals retinol.
- Using retinol will make your skin sensitive to sunlight so make sure you're using sunscreen every morning.

6. Expert Tip: Apply SkinCeutical Retinol Sparingly
I recommend beginning with SkinCeuticals Retinol and applying it only once or twice a week for a period of two to three weeks. See how your skin reacts and up/lower the frequency of application as necessary. Temporary peeling, though only a minor side effect of retinol, is normal; stinging and inflammation are not. Discontinue use if symptoms of discomfort are severe.
7. When Does Retinol Expire?
Once opened retinol expires at the 12 month mark. However for the best results from this product it is recommend that you use these retinol products within the first 6 months of opening.
