Those close to me would confidently tell you that sunscreen is my biggest passion in life, and while I do have some (not many) other interests outside of sun safety, I do really love encouraging people to use sunscreen.
I mean, as a dermal therapist and beauty expert, you’d hope I’d be militant about sunscreen usage considering up to 90% of visible skin aging is caused by UV exposure.
So you can bet I have a pretty good working relationship with brands like Ultra Violette, who in recent years have made sunscreen ‘cool’, a task plagued by decades of preconceived notions about sunscreen and its formerly greasy texture and sunscreen-y smell.
But Ultra Violette pulled it off, and I had a front-row seat to their success as they launched into Adore Beauty several years ago.
Now, I wasn’t just trying to brag that I’m pretty tight with Vi, as the team affectionately nickname the brand, I was providing context.
You see, the Super Glow Drops I’m about to tell you about might be new to Adore Beauty’s virtual shelves, but I’ve had them in my routine since December last year and I cannot. get. enough.
What Are the Ultra Violette Queen Screen Super Glow Drops?
If you didn’t gauge from the video above how much these Super Glow Drops impressed me on first use, then let me explain a little further:
We’ve got a
bronzing version and an
illuminating version which you can use in a variety of ways (I’ll get to that).
The Super Glow Drops offer SPF50 UVA and UVB protection.
They have a liquidy texture and come in a dropper bottle much like Queen Screen, which is set to make a comeback to Adore very soon after a ~longer-than-desired~ hiatus.
They’re both very pigmented, so a little goes a long way (usually not something I say about SPFs, you’ll see why below).
Don’t worry, I’ve already asked Ultra Violette’s team to release a blush version multiple times because these formulas are just too good, we need a full set of complexion products.
Stay tuned for that.
*Always follow the directions for use. Reapply every two hours and after swimming, towelling and perspiring per directions. Keep in mind that sunscreen is only one part of sun protection so be sure to wear protective clothing, seek shade and avoid prolonged sun exposure.
So, How Do You Use Them?

Before we get into how to use them, here’s how not to use them: they aren’t designed to be used as your standalone sunscreen which is a very important point to make.
You simply wouldn’t be able to use enough of the product (three full droppers of Queen Screen are recommended for reference) to get the full SPF50 protection they provide without looking... well.. silly.
So think of them as nice little additions to the sunscreen you’re already wearing.
Now to how you can use them:
1. As a highlight and contour over your other complexion products.
I have been using them this way for the last 8 months, just as I demonstrated in the video above. They have a decent amount of buildable pigment and blend really beautifully with a brush, fingers or even a sponge.
2. As a way to add more glow to your base or more depth to your foundation shade.
You can add a few drops of the Illuminating and Bronzing formulas to your foundation before you apply to either add more luminosity to your foundation or to deepen the shade of your foundation (very handy if you’re a fake tanner).
3. Mix in with your Ultra Violette Skin Screen of choice.
Typically, we don’t advise mixing your SPF with anything, as it can impact the effectiveness of the formula, however, UV have tested cocktailing the Super Glow Drops with their Skin Screen formulas and you’ve got the tick of approval from them if you want to add a few drops of each to your SPF for more glow or bronzing.
My Ultra Violette Queen Screen Super Glow Drops Review.

Fun fact: despite my passion for SPF, I am actually allergic to a number of sunscreen formulas, so I’m usually quite hesitant to try new ones, because the irritation, texture and redness that come along with a reaction aren’t that enjoyable.
Luckily for me, my skin tolerates the Super Glow Drops with no issues at all (yay).
The drops have a slightly detectable SPF fragrance to them, but nothing that’d bother you all day, the textures are smooth and blendable and the packaging (in my experience) is travel-friendly.
I only wish I’d had them when I was in Europe last year because I would’ve worn the sh*t out of them.
So, in summary, if you’re looking for products to enhance your no-makeup days, to add glow or deepen the shade of your Daydream Screen, or you’re in need of a new subtle but buildable contour and highlight, these are your girls!
