Summer and travel go hand in hand (especially in Aus!), but that also means extra sun exposure, dehydrated skin and potentially summer acne breakouts. The joy.
So from sunscreen, to cleansing on the go, how can you ensure your skin stays healthy through the summer months without dealing with a whole heap of new concerns?
Let’s go through some warm weather skincare tips and tricks below.
1. SPF Is Your Bff.

I obviously wouldn’t be a dermal clinician without starting off with a point on sun protection.
How much are you wearing? And are you re-applying?
This is just a PSA that we need ½ TSP of sunscreen for your face/neck/ears (sorry the SPF in your makeup doesn't count) and realistically we should be re-applying every two hours.
Ultra Violette Preen Screen SPF50 Reapplication Mist SKINSCREEN 75ml can come in handy here and since we are being specific, we need about 8 sprays in total for proper protection.
However, you can also re-apply with your normal SPF.
Ps. Don’t forget your hands, ears, feet and lips.
2. Fast Face Hydration.

Whether on a plane, or throughout the day a hydrating face mist is to my skin what coffee is to my morning.
Cosmedix Mystic Hydrating Treatment is one of the best go-to’s for dried up, dull, lacklustre skin.
It’s also oil-free so great for all skins and is formulated with sodium PCA to pump up hydration alongside aloe vera to calm.
Also so easy to throw in your bag/car/handbag.
Honestly, never underestimate the power of hydrated skin.
3. Cleansing On The Go.

Ok so you’re travelling overseas and need a cleanser on the go.
Have you tried the iconic
Bioderma Micellar Water?
Not only is this one of the most effective cleansers to exist but it comes in travel sizes too making it easy to throw into your carry on.

4. Summer Is Not The Time To Under-Exfoliate.

I know I’m always talking about being careful with exfoliation, including how often we do it so we don’t impair our skin barrier etc. etc.
However, through summer, some skins (predominantly oilier skins) can definitely do with a little extra exfoliation to help decongest the skin and remove oils.
Packing an exfoliating cleanser, or some exfoliating swipes like the
Cosmedix PREP AND RESET: Dual-sided Lactic Acid Exfoliating Facial Pads can be helpful to help get rid of dull skin and keep skin healthy.
5. Post-beach Day Hydrating Face Masks.

Your skin (and carry on) can definitely do with less through summer, but hydrating masks are not only so beneficial to use once you land, but they can also be helpful post beach days or when your skin is feeling like a little extra TLC.
Aspect Intense Hydration Sheet Mask (5 pack) = immediate hydrated and healthy looking skin.
Or
Cosmedix Restore Moisture-Rich Mask is so good for a more dry/sensitive skin and it has the added bonus of enzyme exfoliation.
6. Antioxidants, Antioxidants, Antioxidants!

Antioxidants help protect skin cells from damage and ageing, and whilst important all through the year, antioxidants in our skincare are even more important through the warmer months when we’re spending more time outdoors.
The key is to find an antioxidant serum that your skin loves and can tolerate.
However, personally if L-ascorbic acid is your friend you honestly can’t beat
Skinceuticals C E FerulicIt is a cult product for a reason.
