The beauty industry has been my passion and job for years. I was adopted from India and have now worked on advocating for inclusion in the beauty Industry as a Digital Creator. I enjoy nothing more than beating my face, soaking my skin in a delicious face mask and telling my Instagram followers all about it.

I am strictly not a winter person. The freezing temps are one thing, but it’s my skin that holds the biggest vendetta against the icy seasons.
Despite my bitterness towards brisk winds, heavy downpours and how it affects my skin, I do have a weapon that works damn hard to fight against my overuse of artificial heating. And even better, it works overnight.
With harsh environments, our skin tends to be damage-prone. Particularly when climates are set to freezing and the heater is getting a daily workout, our skin cops a good dose of dehydration and loss of moisture and can result in a compromised barrier, dryness and/or flaking skin.
It’s a lot. Sometimes a luxuriously rich moisturiser needs a best friend and moral support. Which is why I make a BIG point to mask weekly.
Enter: Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask.

What Does the Laneige Bouncy and Firm Sleeping Mask Do?

Key Benefits of the Laneige Bouncy and Firm Sleeping Mask:
  • Firms and plumps skin overnight
  • Improves elasticity and bounce
  • Delivers deep hydration
  • Smooths skin texture
  • Comfortable overnight formula
  • Key Ingredients: peony & collagen Complex - supports firmness and elasticity, hyaluronic acid - deeply hydrates and plumps.
I know this may seem like an unnecessary step, but it is oh so necessary. Think of this mask as your skincare 'hustler'. You go to bed, wake up and the work has been done for you. Efficiency in a jar.
Which is what we deserve, right? Sleeping masks like this one are formulated to nourish deeply, restore and treat specific concerns. In this case, mine were dehydration and lack of 'oomph'; I also needed my skin to look its best in a short amount of time.
If your skin is craving that weekly at-home-facial-feel, in need of revival or simply just needs extra attention to tackle dehydration.
This may be what you’re searching for.

What Is a Sleeping Mask?

After cleansing, we have our hydrating steps.
You’ve got your essences, toner mists, serums and luxuriously rich creams. All delicious and helpful for keeping our skin fresh, plump and more importantly, hydrated and nourished. But once or twice a week, a sleeping mask can enter the chat.
Usually, a sleeping mask is formulated to sink in and work hard while you rest your eyes. In most cases, they can be gel-like, creamy, or use slow-release methods to keep skin ultra-juicy throughout the 8+ hours (or at least help you appear like you’re getting that much sleep).
They may target dehydration, firmness, exfoliation and/or calming irritation. Above all, they are a special final step in your routine that comforts your skin and peace of mind all whilst you’re dreaming.
Sleeping masks are particularly useful pre-event or whenever you want your skin to look sparkly, revived and well-rested.

Where Does the Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask Fit in My Routine?

How do you use Laneige sleeping mask bouncy and firm? How often should I use a Laneige bouncy and firm sleeping mask? The thing is with any sleeping mask, you want it to be the final step. Because the textures are generally thicker, or take a few extra moments to sink in, it will need to be the grand finale.
The Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask has a luxe, cushiony, gel, sorbet-like texture, so if anything lighter were layered on top, you may lighten the efficacy of those thinner products.
Long story short, this is how your routine could flow: PM cleanse, eye cream/ serum, toner and/or essence, hydrating serum, a light layer of a night cream finished with a generous dollop of The Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask.
And if this feels like another step to remember, you only use this once or twice a week.
Note: You don’t have to use a night cream in addition to the mask. The whole premise of the sleeping mask is that it dives deep and treats your skin, plus its texture is usually noticeably thicker or not as immediately absorbed, but if your skin enjoys that extra barrier support, go for it.
A facial oil can also be used if your skin is needing replenishment of oils, so you could press a couple drops in before the mask.

My Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask Review:

I’ve used the Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping mask on its own, without additional serums or toners, and I’ve added it to my usual evening routine.
The first thing I appreciate is the texture. It really does resemble sorbet, and it has tiny capsules, more formally known as Hydro Melt Glow Capsules. They exist to form a protective layer to retain moisture overnight. Brilliant.
The mask contains:
  • A Peony & Collagen Complex to support firmness and elasticity Hyaluronic Acid to deeply hydrate and plump
  • Peptides, Green Tea Probiotic Iysate and Vitamin E
Scent-wise, it’s a subtle, sweetened floral designed to calm and relax your mood. It’s not overpowering and doesn’t linger, which I personally love.
Depending on time and laziness, I used this mask alone or with other products. The results differ but you are never missing out. Sleeping with this mask was so comfortable, it absorbed relatively quickly and didn’t leave a mess on my pillow.
Wearing it on its own, I woke up with velvety soft skin. My skin's texture felt like silk to the touch, perfect for makeup application or just skin bragging rights.
When I lathered this mask on in addition to a full routine of toner, serum and a dash of night cream, my skin woke up well-rested, lush, deeply nourished and radiant.
It truly felt like an at-home-facial. It was that special addition to calm the stressful wear and tear from the week.

Final Verdict

My verdict is, that this mask knows how to transform tired, dehydrated skin and give it life again. Firmness-wise, I think this would require longer testing, but for bounce and revival, the Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask earned a big tick.
