In Partnership With La Roche-Posay.
She’s an icon. She’s the moment. She is Anthelios.
Otherwise known as La Roche-Posay’s famed sunscreen line. Or, in the words of many Adore Beauty staffers (including Beauty IQ’s
own senior beauty editor), one of the industry’s best.
For most of us (this writer included), finding the right sunscreen can feel like one of Beauty’s greatest challenges. The kind that doesn’t sting your eyes, leave a chalky white cast or feel like you’ve slathered your face in frosting.
It requires patience, perseverance, and a few trials along the way. Luckily, that’s (quite literally) what I’m here for.
To help you skip some of the trial and error, I’ve been diving deep into the La Roche-Posay Anthelios range. Given its cult status, it seemed like the perfect place to start when searching for a new summer SPF.
Just a heads up—TGA restrictions limit what we can and can’t say, so I’ll keep it factual and let you decide whether one of these is your perfect SPF match.
Why Choose La Roche-Posay Anthelios Sunscreens?

La Roche-Posay’s Anthelios range debuted in 2006 and was a game-changer for sunscreen technology offering broad spectrum protection with high protection UV filters against both UVA and UVB rays.
Just two years later, the
French pharmacy brand took it up a notch by combining these sun filters with antioxidants to protect against free radicals (those sneaky molecules known to accelerate skin aging).
Now let’s dive into the specifics of some of the
Anthelios sunscreens available on Adore Beauty.
SPF is just one part of sun protection! Always seek shade, wear sunglasses, a hat, and protective clothing. Apply enough sunscreen to cover all exposed areas and reapply as directed. Frequent reapplication is key to effective sun protection. Always read the label. Avoid prolonged sun exposure.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Invisible Fluid customer reviews:

Contains niacinamide (vitamin B3) for hydration and panthenol (B5) to support the skin barrier.
Can help prevent Solar Keratosis (a pre-cancerous lesion) characterised by raised, rough, dry patches on sun-exposed skin areas—and premature skin aging, as well as sunspots.
This is a great option for those prioritising hydration and skin comfort in their daily sunscreen.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios KA+ customer review:
“This is very glowy (read: shiny, wet, glass skin effect) and extremely moisturising. It's one of the few sunscreens that don't require me to use an additional moisturiser underneath.
It sits well under makeup providing your issue is dry, flaky patches or if foundation tends to leave your skin parched and dehydrated.
For my mid-30s skin, it leaves it plump and healthy, especially in winter. It is a heavy-feeling cream product and some massaging is needed to work it into the skin. I imagine it would feel thick in a humid environment or with sweaty or oily skin.
I've noticed more even skin tone since using, I believe the protection it offers is excellent.” - Nadinka.
3. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Fluid – Glow-Getter.

Perfect for: Light coverage with sun protection.
Fast facts:
Offers a lightweight and universal tint for a natural finish.
Hypoallergenic fragrance, non-greasy, and safe for sensitive skin.
Dermatologically tested and suitable for everyday wear.
Provides very high SPF50+ broad-spectrum UV protection.
This is an ideal option for those seeking sun protection with a hint of sheer, natural coverage as well as those who are concerned with pigmentation (as we know the improtance of SPF and even better a tinted SPF for this).
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Fluid customer reviews:
“The sunscreen is on the expensive side however, it gives light coverage and also protects your skin. I don't need to wear make-up in the summer when I am using this product. It is fantastic.” - Tina.
“I've been using La Roche Posay sunscreen for more than 8 years and this product it's one of my favorites. Super light texture that penetrates the skin really well and helps you if you have blemishes or acne-prone skin.” - Angela.
4. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Dry Touch – Shine-Free.

Perfect for: Oily or acne-prone skin seeking a mattifying finish.
Fast facts:
Lightweight and mattifying with an anti-shine finish.
Dermatologically tested and ideal for sensitive skin.
Provides very high SPF50+ broad-spectrum UV protection.
Non-comedogenic and absorbs instantly without leaving a greasy feel.
The Anti-Shine dry touch also comes in a
non-tinted version which you can get here.
The tinted version of this SPF means it can be used in place of a foundation too (without compromising UV protection).
This is perfect for anyone looking to manage shine while staying protected.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Dry Touch customer review:
“I use the tinted version of this sunscreen when all I want to wear is moisturiser and sunscreen. Application is thick, but dries matte and is great for my oily skin. I usually apply this before my workout and know that my skin has SPF protection and added flawlessness from the tint.
I do find that it needs to be rubbed in quite well and ensure the application is even as sometimes it dries and you can see the tint. I also find the tint adapts to the colour of your skin and love that it doesn't break me out and I feel confident to wear only this on makeup-free days.” - Sarah.
Final Verdict.
With all that considered, the question is: Which La Roche-Posay Anthelios Sunscreen is right for you?
