We know there are pro’s and con’s to
every skin type.
But, that doesn’t always help the person dealing with the effects on their skin. So, if it’s a new routine you need to make your skin feel comfortable and balanced, we’re here to help.
Dry skin in particular can often be uncomfortable – feeling taut and dry particularly after washing the face if the wrong
cleanser or products are used. Dry skin can visibly look more prematurely aged and lack luminosity.
But what actually causes dry skin? Well dry skin means there is less oil in the skin which, if not treated correctly, can lead to skin conditions such as
flakiness,
sensitivity, irritation, and being a lot more prone to
dehydration.
How often should I exfoliate dry skin?
If you have dry skin, you might be familiar with dry patches, roughness and texture.
Thankfully a combination of
chemical and physical exfoliants can help reduce this when used in moderation.
Start off by introducing exfoliating products twice a week, and only increase usage if your skin can tolerate it.
Step 1: Correct cleansing
The correct cleansing routine is essential as the skin has a pH level that needs to be maintained.
What to use: We recommend
double cleansing to assist with protecting the barrier function. Cleanse with the
Ella Bache Botanical Cleansing Oil followed by
Ella Bache Rinse-Off Cleansing Cream.
How to use: Get a generous amount of
Ella Bache Botanical Cleansing Oil out and warm it up between your palms. Gently massage it over your face and neck and say goodbye to dirt and impurities. Remove with damp sponge or soft face towel. Follow with massaging the
Ella Bache Rinse-Off Cleansing Cream into your face and neck using gentle circular motions. Rinse off with warm water or a dampened soft face towel.
Step 2: Exfoliating steps
Dry skin can be slower in cellular turnover. You can speed up cellular renewal however with regular exfoliation one to two times per week.
What to use: Alternate your exfoliation with the
Ella Bache Refining Exfoliating Gel and the
Ella Bache Revealing Fruit Enzyme Exfoliant . These exfoliators for dry skin are both effective and gentle.
How to use: With wet fingertips, apply the
Ella Bache Refining Exfoliating Gel using circular massage movements to emulsify the gel all over face, neck and décolletage for approximately one minute avoiding the eye contour area. Remove with warm water and a soft face towel or sponge.
For the
Ella Bache Revealing Fruit Enzyme Exfoliant , activate the powder by combining with warm water in the palm of the hand or the product cap. Mix it up until it forms a smooth paste then gently massage over your face, neck, and chest. Leave on for two minutes for sensitive skin, five minutes for normal skin, and eight minutes for resilient skin. Then simply rinse off with warm water.
Step 3: Skin Treats
Treat the skin with active and deep penetrating serums once to twice daily, followed by deeply nourishing with the
Ella Bache Botanical Skin Treatment Oil 30mL.
What to use: Ella Bache Botanical Skin Treatment Oil 30mL is an ideal
facial oil for dry skin as it's packed full of pure potent oils of
Hemp Seed, Jojoba Seed and Evening Primrose to repair and protect damaged skin.
How to use: Warm 3-5 drops of
Ella Bache Botanical Skin Treatment Oil 30mL in the palm of your hands then gently massage into your skin.
Step 4: Moisturiser for dry skin
Protect and moisturise with a day and night cream that offer a layer of extra nourishment that deeply protects dry skin.
