When skincare is literally your job, it takes a
lot for a product to earn a permanent spot on your bathroom shelf. I know this all too well because
I test K-beauty products for a living, and while plenty are good, only a small handful make me stop, reorder and wonder how I ever lived without them.
For me, a product only crosses from “good” to truly exceptional if it ticks a few non-negotiables: it has to actually work, be kind to sensitive skin, have little to no fragrance, be easy to use, and not feel wildly overpriced for what it delivers.
So, without further ado, I’ve rounded up the
K-beauty products that truly stood out in 2025 because they ticked all of these boxes.
Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum: Ginseng + Retinal.

This has been a favourite of mine for over ten years, and it’s still a top pick for 2025. No matter how many eye creams I try, I always come back to this one from Beauty of Joseon. It contains retinal, a vitamin A derivative that works faster and more effectively than retinol. To keep it gentle on delicate skin, the retinal is stabilised in liposomes, which are tiny spheres that break it down so it’s easily absorbed. The result is a lightweight cream that keeps my eyes looking well-rested (even after very minimal sleep) and, not to toot my own horn, but I’m pretty sure it’s slowed the appearance of fine lines over the years.
Anua Rice Cleansing Powder.

I’ve been using the
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant for over a decade, but in my quest to find a more affordable alternative, I came across this one from one of my favourite K-beauty brands. Side by side, the powder looks almost identical to the OG Dermalogica. Once activated with water, it transforms into a soft foam that gently buffs away dead skin and helps even out skin tone, all without irritation.
Beyond the formula, the packaging is what really sets it apart. Unlike Dermalogica’s screw-top lid (which is notoriously awkward mid-shower, especially with one hand covered in powder), Anua uses a secure flip-top lid. That means no spills and no water accidentally splashing into the bottle. Genius!
While
Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant will always have a place on my shelf (and in my heart), this is a brilliant budget-friendly alternative that delivers the same results… if not better.
Torriden DIVE-IN Low Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Mask 10pc.

I first used this mask around three years ago, but only reintroduced it into my routine this year, and I’m so glad I did. In fact, it was recently crowned Best Face Mask at the Olive Young Awards 2025, which is a HUGE achievement given just how competitive the K-beauty sheet mask category is.
What I love most is that there are no frills here. There’s nothing flashy about the packaging, material or ingredient list. It simply does what it promises. The mask delivers a deep hit of hydration thanks to its 5D hyaluronic acid complex, leaving skin plump, refreshed and comfortable. It also works beautifully as pre-makeup prep, creating a smooth, hydrated base that helps everything sit better on top. This mask really proves that sometimes, simple is best.
Medicube Deep Vita C Capsule Cream.

I’ve harped on and on about this vitamin C cream before (
you can read my full review here) because it’s just so good. I’ve always struggled to find a vitamin C product that agreed with my hypersensitive skin, but it wasn’t until earlier this year that I got my hands on this — and haven’t missed a night without using it.
To date, I’m pretty sure I’ve repurchased it over eight times. Under the golden lid, pearl-like capsules sit in a hydrating gel, bursting on application to release 50% Sea Buckthorn Extract, stabilised vitamin C, and 5% Niacinamide. With Ferulic Acid and vitamins E, Q and P, the gel soothes, stabilises and locks in moisture, leaving my skin brighter, hydrated and balanced — with no irritation insight.
Torriden Solid-In Ceramide Lip Essence.

I’m notoriously picky with lip products, but I absolutely love this one. In fact, at any given time, I usually have about four of these lip balms open — one by my nightstand, one at my desk, one in my car, and one in my handbag.
It’s glossy, hydrating, completely non-sticky, and fragrance-free. Packed with nourishing ceramides, it not only looks great but also helps repair and strengthen your lips as you wear it. Honestly, it’s a dream product.
Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser.

For years, I was using the same cleanser both morning and night, but my skin just wasn’t happy. While some skincare experts suggest skipping a morning wash to preserve your skin’s natural oils and microbiome, I simply couldn’t go without cleansing. So, switching to this super gentle cleanser in the morning has made a huge difference this year, and I’ve found my skin barrier has never felt stronger or more balanced.
Fragrance-free and lightweight, it’s packed with plum water, which is rich in vitamins and acids that gently exfoliate and soften the skin, and mung bean extract, which locks in hydration and keeps skin feeling fresh and nourished.
Anua Heartleaf Quercetinol Pore Deep Cleansing Foam.

While I reach for the Beauty of Joseon cleanser in the morning, this Anua one is my go-to in the evenings. It creates the softest foam that cleans thoroughly without ever leaving my skin feeling tight or dry, which is something no exfoliating or “active” cleanser has managed to do for my sensitive skin.
The 150ml tube is generous, too, so a single one lasts for months before you need to restock, which is always a win in my book (and my wallet).
Anua Rice Ceramide Hydrating Barrier Serum.

2025 was the year I experienced (and thankfully survived) my first bout of adult acne since my teenage years (
you can read about it here). And one product I genuinely credit for getting my skin back on track is this Anua Rice Ceramide Hydrating Barrier Serum.
This lightweight yet deeply hydrating serum is formulated with rice extract, ceramides and niacinamide — three ingredients acne/a damaged skin barrier hate to see coming. At the height of my breakout, it replenished moisture without feeling heavy, helped repair my over-exfoliated skin barrier, and slowly brought back that bouncy, healthy glow. When my skin calmed down and returned to normal, I religiously kept it in my routine morning and night.
Oh, and if you’re a fan of the cult-favourite COSRX Snail Mucin, consider this the upgraded version, in my opinion.
Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum.

For the longest time, I avoided investing in Sulwhasoo products because of the higher price tag. But earlier this year, I finally bit the bullet and tried their best-selling First Care Activating Serum, and OMG, it’s worth every cent. It works by prepping your skin so everything you apply afterwards absorbs better and works harder, which is why it’s become completely irreplaceable in my routine. Honestly, there’s nothing else on the market that comes close in terms of texture, formula and overall effectiveness.
Anua Azelaic Acid 10 Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum.

Azelaic acid has been having a major moment this year, and for good reason. It’s an incredibly effective ingredient that helps reduce redness, clear congestion, fade pigmentation and even out skin tone, all without the sting or stress that often comes with stronger actives. I’ve especially been loving this one from Anua, which pairs 10 per cent azelaic acid with hydrating hyaluronic acid and soothing panthenol. The result is a formula that calms and supports the skin barrier while gently targeting redness, uneven tone and mild congestion, making it an ideal option for azelaic acid beginners.
VT Cosmetics PDRN Essence 100.

After trying a handful of PDRN products since they first became a hype, I finally came across this one earlier this year, and it’s easily the standout.
It’s powered by Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN), an ingredient often derived from salmon DNA and widely used in Korean dermatology clinics, but this formula uses ginseng-derived PDRN instead. The high-concentration essence focuses on skin repair and renewal at a cellular level that improves elasticity, calms inflammation and strengthens the skin barrier, leaving skin plump, bouncy and more resilient.
What really sets it apart from others is the lightweight, fast-absorbing texture and the results, which honestly feel comparable to an in-clinic treatment (coming from someone who has tried actual PDRN injections in Seoul). If your skin is feeling tired, stressed or just a bit flat, this essence acts like a reset button, sometimes as quickly as overnight. It’s also incredibly soothing, making it ideal if you’re prone to sensitivity, redness or barrier damage from over-exfoliation.
Anua Niacinamide 5 TXA Brightening Pad.

I’ve realised there are only three things that make me repurchase a tub of toner pads: the pads need to be absolutely soaked in product, generously sized to cover more of the face, and, most importantly, they obviously have to work. This one from Anua (yes, as you can probably tell, it’s one of my favourite K-beauty brands of 2025) ticks every box.
Each pad is drenched in a brightening cocktail of 5% niacinamide, 5% tranexamic acid (TXA), peptides, PHA and vitamin B12, designed to fade dark spots, even skin tone, smooth dry patches and boost overall radiance. What really sets these apart, though, is the clever curved shape, which fits perfectly under the eyes, making them ideal as quick mini face masks.
They also come in
Azelaic Acid and
PDRN versions, which are just as impressive, simply tailored to different skin concerns.
