I Used This Cosmeceutical Cleanser Until It Was Empty (And It’s Under $60)!

I know, I know. $60 for a cleanser in this climate feels like a bit of a leap.
But, when you look at the prices of a great cosmeceutical grade cleanser with the inclusion of hard-working actives and skin-loving ingredents, sixty bucks isn't actually too bad.
So what is the new asap cream-to-oil cleanser!?
This new favourite that I have used every last drop of?
Well, it’s asap’s latest cleanser innovation - the Cream To Oil Cleanser (which also comes in a cute travel size cleanser)...
I am a big asap skincare fan. I think they are one of the most efficacious and well-priced cosmeceuticals out there.
I have been using their serums and cleansers for some time, even purchasing them in jumbo size because I love them so much.
This makes me the prime candidate to road test this new baby - will it live up to my love of the brand!?

My Cleanser Must Haves and What I Look For.
I am not an easy man to please - just ask my dating history (hello single status)!
But in my skincare, I know exactly what I am seeking. I have said before, a cleanser is where I will often put a brand through its paces.
It gives instant pay off - you don’t need to wait six to eight weeks to feel the difference in the skin, see how it works at cleansing the skin and what it actually does.
It’s also usually at the cheaper end of the price range for a brand so it has some lower risk.
And for contet, my skin is that normal/combination - get’s oily throughout the day but has a fair bit chucked at it with shaving and glam!
So with all that in mind, here’s my cleanser non-negotiables:
1. It has to work in the shower - I am an AM and PM shower person (don’t come for me haha) and so my skincare routine starts in the shower. I need something that will stand up to the water and not just go down the drain.
2. It needs to remove my glam - I am a double-cleanse guy but I don’t want multiple products. It needs to take the makeup and the day off in two goes.
3. It needs to be nice to use - I am not one of those who can say “tastes bad but it’s good for me” - there’s no wheat germ shots in my life I can assure you. I want that experiential moment.
4. It has to work - By this I mean it needs to have something more to it than just a cleanser. I want it part of my routine in a meaningful way and have some other benefits.
How It Fits Into My Routine.
I find asap is a brilliant starting place for those climbing up the skincare ladder. It’s an easy to navigate range where you cannot really go wrong.
My advice is to go for that basic four step routine - Cleanse, Serum, Moisturise, SPF. asap wins in all of these categories.
Some of my favourites and top rated?
- asap radiance serum with aha/bha 30ml - this bad boy has been bought on repeat for some time now. The aha and bha in this serum are giving a brightening effect to the skin supporting my goals of radiance (that’s me hoping to stay young for as long as possible). No stinging, fast absorbing and moisturiser goes straight over no worries.
- asap super B complex 30ml - asap super B is probably what asap is known for the most. This two in one - niacinamide and HA is a potent formula known for its anti-aging properties. While it hasn’t made its way into my basket yet, I am writing this thinking “why on earth not”!? I mean just look at this before and after results from using the super B complex:
- asap gentle cleansing gel 200ml - if cream to oil isn’t for you, asap has plenty of options. The gentle cleansing gel is one of my all time favourite cleaners. Perfect for anyone (definitely for the guys), this cuts through and removes the day in one swipe.
My asap Cream To Oil Cleanser Review:
While this is a makeup removing product, it’s definitely not suitable for the eyes.
If you’re like me and you want to be quick in the shower, I recommend a micellar water or specific eye make up remover.
How to use the asap Cream To Oil Cleanser?
A few drops on a cotton pad while the water heats, ensures a smooth flow from mirror to shower.
The product is specifically designed to be massaged into the skin for about 30 seconds. This helps breakdown makeup and wipe the day away. Follow the instructions here - those girlies who are in and out with their cleanser are going to find a subpar experience. It needs that time to really get in there.
While I have banged on using it in the shower, I do think it’s a cleanser that works optimally over the sink.
Being a cream to oil, the shower water probably isn’t best - it would work best on dry skin with damp hands.
Final Verdict...
If you love asap, you’ll love the new cleanser. It’s got those same properties that we know and love the brand for.
If you’ve got 30 seconds per cleanse, this is worth a try. If you’re a lover of a skincare routine that has a bit more sensoriality about it, this is worth a try. If you’re already using asap, this is worth a try.
It’s definitely on the repeat purchase list for me! Plus, the brand is home-grown! Nothing better than buying Australian-made.
