Your go to glam look doesn’t have to be messy and complicated. Event looks that are simple, classic and defined are sometimes the most beautiful, and easy to perfect.
In this routine
MUA Michelle Majuru shows us how to master a sultry eye look and
a bold lip for formal events. Not only is this look incredibly glamorous, it is also super straightforward and
easy to master at home.
This is the perfect look for your next event if you love keeping things simple and chic.
How do I do makeup for a formal event?
No matter what event your attending, makeup is ultimately about
what makes you feel comfortable and confident. It’s really much more about personal style than it is about conforming to a particular look.
However, we do understand that formal events are occasions that many of us like to go a bit extra and
try something new with our makeup. So, we’ve put together this routine for those wanting to get just a little outside their comfort zone, while keeping it simple and cool.
Also, if you love this look for your everyday glam routine, we love and appreciate that too! No event required.
Evening makeup step-by-step:
Step 1: An even complexion
Step 1: An even complexion
To even out her complexion, Michelle applies the
with a dense foundation brush, using dabbing motions to blend in the product. She also suggests you can use a damp beauty sponge.
Step 2: Creaseless concealer
Step 2: Creaseless concealer
Nest, apply the
to your under eye area and your smile lines, and blend out with a small tapered brush or a beauty blender using dabbing motions again. For extra brightness you can use a concentrated amount of an extra light concealer where you get the most darkness under your eyes. You can also add a small amount down your nose and chin.
Set your under eyes with a thin veil of the
and apply the product lightly with a small tapered brush.
For her contour, Michelle actually uses the
in a few shades darker than her skin tone. She draws this product directly onto her skin, outlining just below her cheekbone and her hair line before blending them out with her foundation brush.
Step 5: Warm matte bronzer
Step 5: Warm matte bronzer
Michelle goes over the shape she has created with the
with a contour brush for added warmth and definition.
Next, apply a small amount of the
to the highpoints of your cheeks with a small tapered highlighter brush. You can use your fingers to help merge this product with the skin.
Step 7: Caramel lid shade
Step 7: Caramel lid shade
For the eyes, take some of the
on a small fluffy brush and blend it into your crease using circular motions. Remember to take this shade onto your lower lash line as well.
Be bold with the
in 302 Hollywood. Apply several coats using the precise applicator for the best effect. This matte lip colour feels weightless on the lips and is incredibly long lasting.
The Final Look: The Bold and the Beautiful
The Final Look: The Bold and the Beautiful
We hope you enjoyed Michelle’s easy glam look for formal events. If you have oily skin or need to make this look extra long lasting we recommend adding some
extra powder and finishing with one of our fabulous
setting sprays.
