In Partnership With Maybelline
I’ve always had a bit of a love-hate (okay, “hate” is a strong word; mostly “dislike”) relationship with colour correctors.
I’ve tried all the cult favourites, and not a single one ever wowed me. Which is kind of wild, considering I’m the textbook candidate for an under-eye colour corrector.
Friends swore by them and makeup artists assured me I just hadn’t found the right shade, but honestly? I didn’t have the patience.
The formulas I tried felt cakey, or at best, just didn't feel worth repurchasing for me personally.
So, when the chance came to test Maybelline’s colour correctors that help counteract redness, discolouration and dark circles, I was cautiously curious.
Two main reasons: 1) price (they're literally under $23) and 2) I have been LOVING so many
Maybelline products at the moment.
They have been nailing so many of their product launches (I will have to do a BIQ article on my 'Maybelline best products' in the near future).
Still, I was a littttllllee sceptical: could these budget-friendly correctors actually help my concealer deliver even brighter under-eyes?
You guys know I love a spoiler alert - THEY DID:

If you want the TL;DR version: I'm going to be repurchasing the same two I used and loved and will be incorporating them into my routine - indefinitely. That says everything you need to know right now.
Looking for one of the best colour correctors for dark eye circles that’s also budget-friendly? Add this to cart stat.
But as always, let me tell you more…

Orange - counteracts discolouration and and is suited to medium to deep skin tones
Pink - corrects and brightens dark circles - for light to medium skin tones
What Maybelline Color Corrector Shade Is For Me?
TikTok creator @askellenbeauty has us sorted on this one:
Maybelline Color Corrector Review:

Historically, I have found under-eye correctors slightly frustrating and intimidating to use. But the Maybelline colour correctors for dark circles are foolproof.
For context, I tried both the pink and the yellow shades.
Full disclosure: I’m not one of those die-hard cult
Maybelline Age Rewind concealer fans, but I
am familiar with its clever twist-and-click sponge applicator, which is the same user-friendly (and fuss-free) way to use the Maybelline colour correctors too.
From a texture perspective, it’s not as creamy as a concealer, but it’s not meant to be.
The first application for me did feel a little chalky, but I think the matte feel is what made my concealer grip and apply nicely.
I gently dotted some under one eye and lightly dabbed it into my under-eyes with my ring finger.
The pink shade is pictured on the left and the yellow shade on the right:

I applied it under just one eye because I wanted to see if there would actually be a difference, or if it would just be much of a muchness compared to the under-eye where I just used concealer as usual with no colour corrector underneath?
And the result?
I instantly noticed the difference. The “corrector eye” looked visibly brighter and added a soft focus touch too:

Honestly, I don’t think I can or will ever do my makeup without one of these again.
The benefits are two-fold. One - this under-eye corrector helps counteract my dark, shadowy under-eyes, and two - my concealer doesn't have to work as hard now, meaning I don't have to add as many layers as I usually do, which also means I won't run out of my concealer as fast either - win!
It has further helped perfect my makeup routine, and I'm so glad I've tried so far what I consider to be one of the best under-eye correctors for dark circles.
Final Verdict...

I never thought I’d be that person who raves about colour correctors.
Honestly, I’ve tried so many praised ones over the years, and none of them delivered what my dark, creasy under-eyes needed. They were either too cakey, or they worked on other people but not me. I felt like I couldn't and wasn't using them correctly, so I just added them to the too-hard basket.
Turns out, I just hadn't found the right one.
These affordable colour correctors not only worked, but have instantly become staples in my makeup routine.
The Maybelline color corrector for dark circles, dicolouration and redness are excellent. $23 well spent.
If you have dark circles and want something to help your concealer dial up the brightness under your eyes, I highly recommend adding one of these to your cart.
