Amy Clark is Adore Beauty's former Senior Editor and co-host of Skincare School the podcast (and self-appointed beauty road-tester!). Amy's worked as a journalist, beauty editor and podcaster for several years, previously writing and talking about all things beauty at Mamamia and You Beauty. When she's not writing honest, no BS product reviews and taking selfies 'for work', you'll find Amy eating halloumi in a hair towel turban and... taking more selfies.

I don't know about you, but I'm 100% ready to have F-U-N with makeup again.
It's been two very grey years, and while my skin throughly enjoyed the 10-step Korean skincare routines and at-home LED facials, it's time to clean my makeup brushes and get amongst it!
So ready are we for the makeup revival, we even started a new podcast dedicated to getting back into makeup called Makeup School! (Listen below.)
From pops of colour and chic metallic liner, to fluffy lashes, glossy lips and all of the blush, you can go as bright as you bloody well please.
Need some inspiration? Don't know how the heck to translate TikTok makeup trends in real life?
Keep scrolling for 28 brilliant makeup looks the Adore team are trying next.

1. Vitamin C Makeup.

Is this a trendy way of describing an orange makeup look? Yes. But I love a buzz term.
Switch your usual blush for a peach or bronzey orange, try an orange eyeliner or a smokey orange eyeshadow look, or apply a multi-use cream product in one shade of orange on eyes, cheeks and lips for impact, minus the effort.

2. Bejewelled Eyes.

You can thank the TV show Euphoria for making eye jewels and stickers cool again.
Start small with one or two smaller diamante-style stickers on the inner or outer corner of the eye - no eyeshadow needed, just a bit of mascara.
Feeling fancy? How about a winged eyeliner made from mini stones, or a galaxy-inspired look using pearls and gems?

3. Glazed Lips.

Lip gloss is back and it's here to make your lips look as delicious as a glazed donut.
Select your shade (neutral or tinted), finish (high shine or shimmer) and wear with a contrasting lip liner or on its own.

4. Skin Tints.

Maybe it's because I haven't worn foundation for the better part of two years, but full coverage foundation feels like a mask.
I love how a skin tint or serum foundation worn with strategically-placed concealer lets my freckles show through, and makes any adventurous eye makeup look a bit more spontaneous.
Normal to dry skin types will enjoy the dewy finish. Oily and combo skin-havers can add a touch of powder to keep the shine intentional rather than slick.

5. Blush, and Then More Blush.

Blush has been back for ages, but the next time you go to pop some on, might I encourage you to add some more?
Keep going. And apply in an upwards motion along the cheekbone for a fresh, lifted finish.

6. Sunset Eyeshadow.

If you've had a glorious sunset eyeshadow image like this one in your saved folder on Instagram, what are you waiting for?
Pro tip: Apply your darkest sunset colour first to the outer corner of the eye, and the lightest shade in the inner corner. Then use the colour in between to blend the two outer shades together for a gradient finish.

7. Floating Liner.

Floating eyeliner looks like a lot of work, but it's not. Promise.
All you need is to dampen a fine detailing eyeliner brush with a setting mist, dip the brush into your favourite eyeshadow, and lightly draw it on following the natural shape of your eye.
Watch how to create more graphic eyeliner looks in our YouTube tutorial below.

8. Goth Makeup.

Yes, goth fashion and makeup are back in 2022.
Do with that info what you will, but I'll be interpreting it as a chunky, slightly smudged matte black eyeliner with just a touch of mascara.

9. Jewel Tones.

Pick a jewel tone - any jewel tone - and wear as a wash of rich colour over the lid and along the lower lash line.
Watch as your eyes instantly sparkle like you've got a secret.

10. Double Winged Liner.

Winged eyeliner is lovely, but have you thought of trying a double winged eyeliner look?
You can either use a single colour or two contrasting colours, but that extra upwards wing on the bottom lash line really makes the look something spesh.

11. Dopamine Glam.

You might've heard about the dopamine dressing trend i.e. wearing super bright, colourful clothing in an effort to put yourself (and others) in a bright mood.
So why not do the same with your makeup?
If you're an eyeshadow beginner, pick one colour that's speaking to you and whack it all over the eyelid!
You can watch how in our colourful eyeshadow tutorial below.

12. Graphic Black Liner.

Another Euphoria makeup trend to try is the edgier version of your standard liquid winged eyeliner.
Have a play with different shapes, but the extended inner and outer corner look is very popular right now.
Pro tip: Micellar water and some cotton tips act like an eraser for any stuff ups.

13. Wearable Glitter.

Forget bitsy, chunky glitter that fell off your eyelids the moment you put it on.
The grown up way to wear glitter is by choosing a creamy shimmer eyeshadow cream or a finely-milled powder. Wash it over the lid, and you're done!

14. Blue Eyeshadow.

Blue eyeshadow is the 80s makeup trend that won't quit, so why fight it?
There are so many shades of blue and applications to try. Personally, I'm enjoying a clean pop of blue over the lid worn like an eyeliner, or along the bottom lash line.

15. Glossy Red Lip.

Again, you can't go past a gloss.
If you used to wear matte or pigmented red lipsticks, a juicy red gloss will ease you back in.

16. Diffused Skin.

Back to skin for a little bit, because I'm personally cheering for the end of super contoured, sculpted makeup.
A soft-focus, diffused approach suits absolutely everybody.

17. Pink Eyes & Red Lips.

I used to think you couldn't wear red and pink together, but I'm so glad I called bullsh*t on that old school rule.
This colour combination in a makeup look is so fresh and impactful. Go pink on the eyes and cheeks, and red on the lips, or vice versa!

18. Brown Winged Eyeliner Liner.

If black eyeliner isn't your thing, you need to give brown eyeliner a go.
Trust me, there's nothing daggy about it. If anything, an effortless, smudged out brown winged eyeliner might be the new winged liner. Maybe.

19. Accentuated Lashes.

You can't do eyeliner without lashes. Well, you can, but it's just not as fun.
I've seen so many accentuated, fluffy, long and separated lash looks in my feed lately.
If you're wearing a bold eyeshadow or a graphic eyeliner, keeping the lashes neat compliments the makeup so well.

20. Negative Space Liner.

Another graphic eyeliner trend to try... if you have a steady hand!

21. Subtle Metallics.

I'm calling it: Subtle metallic makeup is chic as sh*t.
Apply a wash of a metallic shimmer shadow over the eyelid, a crisp eyeliner across your lash line, or attempt one of the fancier graphic eyeliner trends using a metallic eyeliner!

22. Pops of Colour.

You don't have to go all out to enjoy colourful makeup.
A light, clean wash of colour over the lid, or an opaque, bright eyeliner can be just as impactful.
P.S. Can you tell I'm really into green at the moment?

23. Purple Makeup.

I know I just said I'm all about green, but I'm also all about purple.
Purples blushes, lilac eyeliners and cool-toned purple eyeshadows look striking, without being showy, you know?

24. Iridescent Makeup.

Whether you enjoy a shimmer product or more of a gleam that catches the light, iridescent products over the eyes or cheeks (or both) are *stunning*.

25. Lifted Contour.

Again, moving away from the carved out contour under cheekbones, lots of people in TikTok are getting on the lifted contour trend.
Place your bronzer or cream contour product on the cheekbones and blend upwards for a lifted effect.

26. Monochromatic Makeup.

Using one shade across your eyes, cheeks and lips is the quickest and easiest way to make it look like you made an effort with your makeup.
Colours like peach, mauve, brick and pink are excellent options.

27. Blue Eyeliner.

Another moment for blue makeup - this time, try a striking cobalt blue eyeliner!
I like to keep the rest of the eyelid bare to let the liner shine.

28. Softly Shaded.

Finally, a soft shaded eye look is a staple trick to pull out whenever you're not really sure what to do with your makeup.
Start by covering the lid with a neutral matte or shimmer shade, then apply a brown cream eyeshadow or liner into the crease and use a fluffy eyeshadow brush to blend into eternity.
