Foundations that blur the line between makeup and an Insta filter? Now, your speaking my language.
I love a formula that's equal parts
radiant and lightweight paired with soft-focus, blurring power and just enough coverage to make you look well-rested. It doesn't get much better than that.
I’ve tried more skin tints and glow-enhancers than I can count and have a dedicated shelf for base products that
promise sheer, dewy magic. So when I heard that
Lancôme was launching a
new skin tint that's 87% skincare, promising hydration, glow and just the right amount of coverage? Sold. Immediately.
I put the new formula to the test - here are my thoughts.
What is Lancôme Skin Idôle 3 Serum Supertint?

This isn’t your regular tint. It’s not even really a foundation in the traditional sense. According to Lancôme, the Idôle Supertint is made up of 87% skincare ingredients, which immediately grabbed my attention. It’s powered by a trio of crowd-pleasing actives: niacinamide (for tone and texture), hyaluronic acid (for hydration), and vitamin E (for skin barrier support).
It promises up to 24 hours of hydration, a serum-like texture, and a “featherlight” wear. The idea is that it covers and perfects while actively improving the look and feel of your skin.
Review: Lancôme Skin Idôle 3 Serum Supertint

The first thing that stood out to me was *just how* glowy and golden this formula looked in the packaging. In the sunlight, she was glisteningggg.
While it looked beautiful (and very much up my glow-getting alley), I did wonder whether the pearlescent nature meant it swayed on the sheerer, primer-hybrid side and less so on the coverage front. Usually not a problem, but tasked with concealing some hormonal chin acne and mild rosacea rosiness - it had it's work cut out for it.
I opted for shade 245W, a warm light-medium with a golden undertone.
My go-to application is fingers (the key to a streak-free finish is lightly pressing product into the skin - not swiping) especially when I’m trying something that sits closer to skincare than traditional makeup. And it worked well here too. The serum like formula melted into my skin and there weren't any obvious streaks. I end up buffing it in with a beauty blender for a more airbrushed finish.
It layered seamlessly over my morning skincare (and SPF!!) without pilling. It also played nicely with cream blush and concealer. I didn’t feel the need to set it with powder, but when I did try a bit on the T-zone, it didn’t cake or cling. It just looked… like skin. In the best possible way.

True to description, the finish was neither matte nor dewy and sat somewhere in-between. Softly radiant but not overly shiny. I wouldn’t say it blurred my skin in the way a silicone-heavy primer might but it definitely made everything look more even and smoothed.
The coverage is light-to-medium, and yes, it’s buildable. I tapped on a second layer around my nose and chin where I needed more coverage and it layered well without separating. It didn’t completely cover acne but it definitely toned down the redness and made the texture less noticeable.
Wearing throughout the day, it felt like skincare; lightweight, hydrating and nourishing. All those good things.
Final Verdict

If you’re in the “skinimalism” camp or just want a high-performance tint that works with your skin (and skincare) - this is for you. *full coverage baddies, look away.
Personally, I loved how easy it was to apply. It looked really natural, radiant and wore beautifully during a full day of errands, emails and a last-minute dinner.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone with combo, normal, or slightly dry skin. If you have more active breakouts or oily zones, a little spot-concealing and powder might help. The formula itself does a great job balancing glow and hold. It was just the ethereal, softly diffused finish I was after.
