Just like I’m more of a Solange over Beyoncé (please don't come for me BeHive), limes over lemons, savoury over sweet - I’m also a matte finish over a gloss finish type of gal.
That’s until... I tried the new Huda Beauty Faux Filler lip gloss.
And no, that doesn’t mean I'm a FULL gloss convert just yet, it means at the moment, this is the only one I’ll happily wear (baby steps).
It’s also no secret that I’m a big fan of Huda Beauty, so every time the diversity-driven brand launches a new beauty product, I consider it my solemn duty to try it.
Their latest release? A $28 hydrating lip gloss named ‘Faux Filler’ that gives you a plump, juicy and high-gloss pout.

Comes in six gorgeous shades and one clear shade:
'Bombshell' - (the most popular out of the bunch) - a browny-pink, perfect for both day or night, will go with everything.
'Sugar Baby' - the perfect, subtle candy pink for all our pink-obsessed girlies.

The Huda Beauty Faux Filler Gloss gives you a lustrous, juicy finish without looking too over the top.
The shade Coco imparts a sheer brown that's the perfect daywear or daily lip gloss for a typically non-gloss wearer like me.
The texture feels so buttery and smooth on the lips and also feels really moisturising without the stickiness.
I also tried it as part of a chocolate lip combo, layering in on top of a lighter shade of brown lipstick, and lining my lips with the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Color Pencil in shade 'Limitless Brown' which gave my lips a glossy, fuller look that wasn’t too ‘fake shiny’ or intense for me.
The wear is also so comfortable, no tackiness that you get with regular glosses (as you can see in the Instagram video with different wearers above).
