I was FaceTiming a friend the other day, taking her on a tour of my house, when she burst out laughing.
I’d just shown her my bathroom and the three shelving units I’d installed (see: suctioned) onto the mirror because I needed my products in easy reach.
She commented on how it was easy to tell I worked at Adore Beauty, and I burst out laughing with her.
But the things sitting in my bathroom vanity can’t just look pretty, they have to perform as well.
Luckily, part of my job is getting to talk to the amazing brands we stock at Adore Beauty about their products - what makes them great and how they fit into a routine.
It’s a busy life being a marketing girlie.
With all of that considered, the fact that I’m conscious about performance and incredibly vested in all things beauty and skincare, I’m unashamedly a great ally to have on your side when you’re figuring out what should be in your next Adore order.
So I’m here to provide some inspo and share what was in my latest staff order - with no skips.
You get to see it all, my friends!

1. Kryolan Ultra Setting Vaporiser.

Let me set the scene for you.
I’m an oily-skinned gal who, irrespective of this fact, absolutely loves a cream makeup product.
So a hot Australian summer is kinda my skin’s worst nightmare.
Despite this I refuse to give up my fave cream bronzers and blushes (strong Taurus energy), so I’ve always been on the hunt for a setting spray that lets me lean into dewy and not sweaty.
This is where the Kryolan Professional Makeup Ultra Setting range comes in.
When I tell you this formula works.
In a fairly embarrassing story, I’ll spare you the exact details of it, but I was recently at a house party on a very hot Melbourne evening when I decided it would be a good idea to open a bottle of champagne I’d brought along to salute the hosts.
Little did I know that bottle would genuinely explode all over me as I unscrewed the cage, scaring everyone around me half to death and leaving me resolute I’d never open a champagne bottle myself again.
Oh, and absolutely covered in champagne.
No one lost an eye, thank god.
But something great that did come out of that traumatic experience?
My makeup didn’t suffer at all, and I credit this setting spray for that. Just a quick pat down with a towel and I was good to go.
As I’ve since finished the bottle, the vaporizer version went straight into my basket, along with the RCMA No Colour Powder 3oz and Manicare Wet & Dry Beauty Puffs 2pk to ensure I can set my makeup.
It’s only February friends, we’ve got a bit more warm weather yet!

2. Ultra Violette Extreme Screen SPF50+.

Speaking of hot weather, sunscreen is just flat-out non-negotiable.
Not just for me, but for you too!
Face, body, the little space in between my sandal straps where I get the awkward tan lines - everywhere should be taken care of.
I’m a really big fan of all things Ultra Violette and have purchased bottles and bottles of this body sunscreen before, so as I was placing an order I thought it was time to restock.
The formula itself is super hydrating and even has a gentle sparkle to it, so it’s perfect for your morning walk or your after-work drink on a rooftop somewhere cute.
And I don’t know about you guys, but this stuff smells so gorgeously coconutty and summery.
I could honestly put it on just for the smell… but SPF 50+ is still a great leading argument.
Important note: Sunscreen is only one part of sun protection so wear protective clothing and seek shade. Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours and after swimming, towelling and perspiring in accordance with directions.

3. Glasshouse Fragrances Kyoto in Bloom Scent Stems.

Next in my basket were some of the Kyoto in Bloom scent stems from Glasshouse Fragrances.
I’ve got a set of these in my study and another set in my bathroom, and as they’ve been going strong for a few months, it’s time for me to swap out the old stems for new ones.
It’s a great, affordable way to spread iconic Glasshouse scents through your home - and I love that I’m not risking accidentally spilling oils or the like through my rooms (see: champagne incident as to whether I’m accident prone or not).

4. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Ultra-Concentrated Serum.

This is perhaps the most Maddy-coded product in this list, to be honest.
Everyone at Adore has heard me yapping about this serum at least once - even the team at La Roche-Posay know I’m obsessed.
The La Roche-Posay Effaclar Ultra-Concentrated Serum isn’t for the faint of heart, but my skin absolutely loves this stuff.
It’s perfect for so many things as it contains a bunch of good-for-your-skin acids, but I see the biggest result in this serum controlling my breakouts and blemishes.
I don’t use it every night to ensure I don’t negatively impact my skin barrier, but let me tell you, if I had to bring one singular serum when travelling, this would be the one.
It's that much of a non-negotiable for me.
For bonus points, I also love the Effaclar moisturiser and the foaming gel cleanser, but I’ve actually already got those, so there wasn’t any need for me to buy them this time.

5. L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil.

Now, if you’re into beauty and skincare, you’ve definitely heard of the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil.
This stuff is known worldwide (seriously) for its gorgeous scent and luxurious lather.
It’s meant to transform from a soothing oil to a foaming wash and yep, that’s all I need to know, sign me up. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to give this iconic product a try.
I snagged the 250mL size, however, the brand also stocks a big 500mL version which I’m sure I’ll be grabbing at one point.
I also use and love the L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream - 150ml and L'Occitane Cocon De Serenite Relaxing Pillow Mist 100ml, so I expect this to be no different.

6. Make Up For Ever Artist Color Pencil.

I’ve been looking for a brown eyeliner pencil for the longest time, so I finally decided to bite the bullet and grab one of the iconic Make Up For Ever Artist Color Pencils in the shade Limitless Brown.
These pencils can be used all over the face, and the texture is gloriously creamy.

Final Thoughts.

So there you have it friends, a peek into my latest staff order.
The stuff I’ve recently spent my own money on - I’ve even got the receipts.
