My under-eyes and I are very passionate about finding the best full coverage concealers for dark circles so when there’s an opportunity to try a new one on the market, you best believe I’m going to take it.
While I love a good budget buy, I’ve learned that a high-performing concealer (even one that leans a little luxe) is always worth the investment for me because my under eyes are super dark, so a full-coverage concealer that’s also hydrating and delivers a brightening finish is always worth my money.
And let me tell you, that doesn’t always happen.
There are quite a few cult concealers out there that just don’t cut it when it comes to coverage on my dark under-eye shading.
So you can imagine my damn delight when I tried the new Estee Lauder concealer and was shocked to find it might just be on par with my current, go-to concealer.
Spoiler: IT’S REALLY, REALLY good.

My under-eyes and I take our concealer game very seriously, so I don’t give a 'recommended concealer for dark circles' a high rating for no good reason.
It has to be AMAZING.
What makes this one so amazing for me? Mainly coverage and finish.
I’ve actually tried the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Flawless Wear Concealer before and loved it; the finish, the creamy and hydrating formula BUT I found it was slightly not full coverage enough for me and I had to apply a few layers to get the coverage I was happy with, and at that rate, I would’ve gone through a $52 tube in less than a month.
So, I passed it on to my cousin, who has a similar skin tone but less intense dark circles, and guess what? She loved it. So much so that she asked if she could use my staff discount to stock up on another.
I remember thinking at the time, if only this concealer had an even smoother finish and just a little more coverage…
Welp - I manifested it. Kidding—Estee Lauder, I won’t take the credit, but someone on your team has definitely been reading my mind.
The finish of the new Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer? Oh. My. Gosh. Smooth, flawless, full coverage—without that heavy or cakey feel.
It’s the first concealer I’ve ever tried that gives an airbrushed effect. I’ve seen this magic happen with certain foundations, but never a concealer… until now.
And look at how initially brightening it makes my under-eyes look:
Here are some other marketing claims I found to be true:
- Soft-focus matte finish—YES, as above - 10/10.
- The “curved side for all-over coverage” - This applicator gets a 10/10 rating. Its flat, fluffy doe-foot imparted an initial application that glided on my delicate under-eyes like butter. From there, the product was so comfy to bounce in and apply with my mini blender.
- I also found that it smoothed over my creases much better than my OG concealer fave that I always rave about.
I found I actually could have stopped at one application (do you know how good that is for me?! I ALWAYS have to apply at LEAST two layers, which also justifies the price point for me, as I won't get through the tube as quickly).
In terms of lasting power, it did fade slightly by the evening but still had enough coverage that I didn’t look tired.
Final rating: 9 1/2 out of 10.
It only loses half a point for the end-of-day fading.
I would say this is the best under-eye concealer for someone who is looking for flawless, full, and brightening coverage.
