I’ve Tried Everything to Stop Hair Fall. Now I’m Trying This New Kérastase Range

So I know what you’re thinking, “Gerard, you have some luscious locks - why are you writing this Beauty IQ!?”
Well, that’s what I’d like you to think. But the truth is, I have gone through my fair share of medications, topical treatments, clinical appointments and hair styles to address and cover my receding hairline!
A few years ago, and then exacerbated through the stresses of the pandemic, I noticed my hair starting to recede - along with most of the male population.
Well that didn’t quite work for me - I feel a real sense of identity with my hair and it receding in my 20s was not what I envisioned for myself.
I tried to tell myself those old tales that it’s “your mother’s side” that determines whether you start to bald or not, but I wouldn’t settle for that.

So over the last few months, I changed tact - I cut my hair short, changed the style and tried to cover it up.

1. Kérastase Genesis Homme Bain thickening Shampoo.
The Kérastase Genesis shampoo is potentially the best shampoo I have ever used and I am not exaggerating.
I can be really hit and miss with shampoo - some cause me irritation, some have that squeaky sound after and some require more than a double cleanse.
This one not only cleanses the scalp, but it also thickens and volumises to give you that much needed confidence boost for your daily life.
Ingredients such as creatine strengthen the hair fibres and ginger roots boost hair cell turnover and stimulate the scalp. It’s like a spa for your head!!
I don’t even need to mention the smell and the texture - to die for!
A little goes a long way too so it’s amazing value.
2. Kérastase Genesis Homme Anti-Hair fall Serum.
This genesis Kérastase serum is probably the star of the show.
Like you would for your skin, if you’re not using a serum for your hair and scalp, you’re missing out.
This serum is designed to reduce the rate of hair fall and soothe the scalp - it really can be thought of as your skin serum step, but for your scalp.
What’s more, it’s clinically proven - no fluffy claims here.
Add this to your towel dried hair daily.
I also noticed that it has a cooling effect on the scalp which is perfect if you have irritation.
3. Kérastase Genesis Homme Thickening Clay Texturiser.
Finally, and most exciting of all, Kérastase has released its first styling product - enter Cire d'Epaisseur Texturisante.
This is a styling clay that provides instant thickening for your thinning hair.
This is a flexible, medium hold product with a matte finish so you can still put your hand through your hair and feel confident it’s going to look good on all occasions.
It has quickly found its way into my regular rotation.
Tip - style in wet hair rather than dry for the best impact.
Final Thoughts...
So my overall thoughts on these Kérastase mens hair products?
It is one of the most luxurious anti-fall ranges on the market and why shouldn’t you be treated when you’re trying to work through the stress of hair loss?
It’s also one of the cheaper options - when you’re comparing it against treatment clinics, LED, medication and more.
