In Partnership With K18
If you’ve been bleaching your hair, you know K18. You’ve probably tried the brand’s ground-breaking
Leave-In Molecular Repair Mask, winced at the price, then discovered its magic. ‘Cause unfortunately for our wallets, it just works really well.
Right now I’m barely passing for bronde, but there was a time when a bright, creamy blonde was a crucial part of my look (and let’s be real, identity).
Since I’ve been there, done that, know that I’m cheering you on and championing new blonde-preserving slash blonde-enhancing products from the sidelines.
K18’s latest release, the TripleBright Oxidation Defense Purple Shampoo, promises to remove brassiness for a blonde that’s like new.
What Is the K18 Triplebright Shampoo?
Unlike your typical toning shampoos, this one doesn’t deposit colour.
Instead, it uses triple-action technology to neutralise brassy tones, remove brass-inducing metals and minerals – aka the stuff you find in hard water – and make your blonde blonde for longer
As stated on this post, TripleBright shampoo works in three ways:
REMOVES brass-causing metals and minerals from unfiltered tap water.
NEUTRALISES yellow tones with precision violet technology.
DEFENDS against future brassiness with a protective biopolymer.
It's also a vegan and cruelty-free blonde shampoo.
How to Use K18 TripleBright Shampoo

As per the product’s directions, applying 2–3 pumps of the TripleBright Oxidation Defense Purple Shampoo to wet hair and leaving it on for 1–3 minutes does the trick.
One wash is meant to remove up to three months’ worth of brassiness caused by hard water. So in theory, you’d only need to use it every so often.
My K18 TripleBright Shampoo Review

It pumps into an airy foam that rinses easily and won’t stain your hands or turn your hair purple. A huge perk for someone who’s averse to wearing gloves in the shower (me) and tends to overdo it with toner application (also me).
I’m still unsure if my water is hard, or if I even qualify for this kind of toning experience with a bronde that’s 90% ‘br’ and 10% ‘onde’, but I enjoyed using this shampoo, and my grown-out highlights definitely looked brighter afterwards.
Though, it wouldn’t be a proper blonde shampoo review without the thoughts of someone who’s proper blonde, so I asked our Retail Marketing Manager Anika to weigh in.
“This is a great, easy-to-use foaming shampoo that works really well to neutralise yellow tones. The foam makes it simple to distribute evenly through the hair, and I noticed a visible difference in brightness after using it. If you leave it in a bit longer, it gives a more ashy, toned finish, which I love. It also didn’t leave my hair feeling dry – actually quite the opposite, my hair felt soft, smooth, and healthy after washing.”

Conditioner-wise, I suggest opting for something that’s also blonde-friendly, like the
K18 Damage Shield pH Protective Conditioner, if you like keeping it in the family.
Final Thoughts…
Paired with the aforementioned holy grail of blonde care (K18’s leave-in mask), maintaining a soft, strong, bouncy blonde in between salon visits is doable, and actually kind of low-effort.*
Inspiration or FOMO? Either way, writing this will likely influence the outcome of my next hair appointment. That's the power of K18, I suppose.
*As low-effort as a half-head of foils every 12 weeks truly can be.
