It's no secret
K18 has the internet (and the entirety of the Adore Beauty office) in a chokehold.
Every time they launch a new product, my feed turns into a loop of
enviable strands and molecular jargon. As for the office? Let's just say we make good use of our staff discount that week...
So it's little surprise their latest launch
K18 HeatBounce Conditioning Heat Protectant, has already reached viral status.
Not your average heat shield, it’s a multitasking mist that acts as a heat protectant and a leave-in smoothing + detangling treatment. Think of it as the missing step between damage and your dream blowout.
If you’re already devoted to their
Molecular Repair Mask or cult
Molecular Repair Oil, I have a sneaking suspicion you'll love their high-tech, heat protecting counterpart just as much.
Lightweight and clinically backed, here's everything you need to know about the new
K18 HeatBounce Conditioning Heat Protectant.
Why You Need a Heat Protectant
Let’s settle this now: if you use hot tools, you need a heat protectant.
Straighteners, curlers and even your “quick” blow-dry are all (not-so) secretly sabotaging your strands. Skipping protection is like doing a 10-step skincare routine and forgetting SPF. The damage adds up, quickly.
The problem? Most heat protectants either feel like hairspray in disguise or do next to nothing. K18’s HeatBounce Conditioning Heat Protectant is not one of them. Clinically backed and built for real performance, it helps reduce breakage by up to 85% after blow-drying (yes, you read that right).
Thanks to K18's innovative resilicore™ technology (more on that below), minimising damage and boosting strand health has never been more effective.
What Is Resilicore Technology?
The magic lies in a brand-new technology called resilicore™, inspired by proteins found in nature that can endure extreme temperatures. Unlike traditional protectants that sit on the surface, resilicore™ goes deeper. Literally.
Its molecular structure is small and smart enough to penetrate the hair’s inner cortex, which is where heat damage begins. Once there, it forms an internal shield that fortifies strands from the inside out. That means longer-lasting protection, less breakage and a smoother finish without build up.
Plus, the formula includes a conditioning blend that leaves hair feeling soft, hydrated and frizz-free. It’s lightweight but still detangles with ease. Safe for all hair types (and textures), you'll find Heatbounce does it's best work against damaged, colour-treated or high-porosity hair types.

I’ve rotated through enough heat protectants to know what I like (and what I’ll never repurchase again). Some look good on the shelf, others leave a crunchy film I end up regretting. So I approached HeatBounce (and their innovative tech) with a healthy dose of curiosity.
I misted it evenly through damp strands roots to ends, then reached for my blow dryer. Within minutes, my strands were dry and smoothed. No drag, residue or stiffness. Just that subtle slip you usually associate with a deep-conditioning treatment. Strands felt smooth and controlled, while still airy.
Before straightening, I added a second light mist through each section. My flat iron glided through with no resistance (or that exasperated sizzling). There was a noticeable reduction in friction, which usually means less stress on my ends.

Another win was how long my style lasted. There was no product build up or dullness by day two (usually guilty). Instead hair held its shape, manageability and lustre. Strands felt nourished, healthy and strong.
However, I do need to acknowledge the slightly steeper price point. While $85 isn't attainable for everyone (so fair!), if you are interested in investing in a quality heat protectant - this is one of the best.
Equal parts heat protectant, leave in and smoothing spray - it does it all.
It's science-backed, sensory and genuinely effective. Bonus points for the added UVA and UVB protection too.
How to use K18 HeatBounce Conditioning Heat Protectant
Apply throughout sectioned hair, brushing through to help with even distribution. Less is more. Start small and build as needed. Hair should feel soft and tangle-free, but not coated.
Use on towel-dried hair before blow drying and on dry hair before hot tools.
