I was recently tasked with the rather enviable job of road-testing the latest Kérastase drop for thick, long, frizz-prone locks. Yep, this was a bit of me.
Now, I've always had a penchant for luxe wash duos (Oribe Gold Lust has been on repeat purchase for years) but this dup was a notch above - and reminded me exactly why Kérastase is 100% worth their steeper price tag.
Dosed with hyaluronic acid for moisture, glycolic acid for deep-seated repair, and wild rose oil for nourishment, the Bain Crème Hydra-Glaze Shampoo is an absolute treat.
The first lather completely dismantled a week’s worth of dry shampoo and debris without any of that dreaded stripping or taut feeling. My scalp felt impeccably clean, while my lengths stayed soft and manageable.
In lieu of a traditional conditioner, the Hydra-Glaze Mask does the heavy lifting.
It possesses a unique melting texture that immerses thick hair in hydration without the typical weight of a heavy butter. After leaving it on for five minutes, I rinsed to find my hair fibre silky, fortified, and (most importantly)bouncy.
It delivers on that 100-hour anti-frizz promise with a glossy, salon-q
uality finish. But honestly? It was the intoxicating, decadent scent that truly sealed the deal.
TYPEBEA R.1 Pre-Wash Damage Repair Mask.
I usually associate anything 'pre-wash' with being gritty or exfoliating, but this mask is an entirely different beast. Applied at least 20 minutes before your shower, it acts as a primer to recalibrate the hair’s internal structure and neutralise breakage.
Formulated with their signature RDS Bond Complex, it ensures strands are fortified and rehydrated before you even step under the showerhead.
What's wild is that it encourages root-to-tip application. I’ve never used a mask that invites scalp contact without
the immediate fear of grease, but this thick, buttery texture absorbs surprisingly fast.
As I rinsed, my hair felt fortified and silky with zero residue.
Truthfully, I enjoyed this product (a lot) I didn’t think I’d have the patience for an extra step. My routine is already so lengthy. But I’ve found myself reaching for this at least once a week just for that extra hit of softness.

Don't be deceived by the lightweight texture here; she is equal parts rich and luxe. Harnessing a Squalane and Omega-9 duo, this leave-in serum nourishes strands in a *literal* 30-second window.
I usually use 2-3 drops on damp strands before blow-drying, yes, there's added heat protection here - and find it makes for a quicker and smoother blow dry experience.
The oil almost immediately softens those unruly kinks and flyaways. I like to finish with a final half drop (okay, full drop) on dry strands to really amp up that coveted mirror-like shine. It just catches the light beautifully.
After the 2 /3 day mark, my hair still looks smooth and remained relatively frizz-free, despite my hair's usual (crazy frizzy) tendencies.
I'm officially onto my second bottle - which says A LOT.
