Amy Clark is Adore Beauty's former Senior Editor and co-host of Skincare School the podcast (and self-appointed beauty road-tester!). Amy's worked as a journalist, beauty editor and podcaster for several years, previously writing and talking about all things beauty at Mamamia and You Beauty. When she's not writing honest, no BS product reviews and taking selfies 'for work', you'll find Amy eating halloumi in a hair towel turban and... taking more selfies.

Raise your hand if you managed to keep any of your 2020 New Year's resolutions. Meh, that's OK. We didn't either.
Whether you love them, loathe them or forget about them by February, the main idea behind resolutions is to pick something you'd like to achieve in the coming year. Sounds easy enough, but a lot of the time, we end up writing a list of ways we're setting ourselves up to fail.
We reckon resolutions don't have to be hard or hard on yourself (or weight-related, no thanks). Why not choose a fun beauty-related resolution instead? To get you started, here are the beauty resolutions five Adore Beauty staffers are committing to in 2021.

1. I Will... *Actually* Remember to Take My Hair and Skin Supplements.

"Being a beauty editor means I've been able to try just about every hair supplement, collagen powder and skin elixir there is. Some are marketing garbage, but many have clinical evidence to back up their claims. Anecdotally, people reckon beauty supplements are game-changing... but only if you actually remember to take them. And not just when you remember, but every bloody day. In 2020, I committed to taking Aede Hair Activist - 3 month pack every morning and night. So this year, I want to keep that up, plus add one of the Vida Glow ANTI-G-OX Citrus 30x2g Sachets to my morning glass of water. Wish me luck." - Amy, Senior Editor.

2. I Will... Save Money by Cutting Back on (Some) Skin Treatments.

"I spend a lot of money on skin treatments. Skin needling, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, laser, dermaplaning... the list goes on. I still want to have professional treatments in 2021, but I'm planning to save by cutting back and supplementing my skincare routine using at-home products and tools where I can. After doing some research, I bought the PMD Beauty Personal Microderm Pro and pledge to use it at least once a month (it's safe for at-home use - start slow so you don't overdo it) to even out skin texture, help serums absorb better, and reduce the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles. Now I just have to actually use the thing..." - Yas, Assistant Marketing Campaign Manager.
You can watch Senior Editor Amy's at-home microdermabrasion tutorial YouTube video below.

3. I Will... Finally Fix My Hair.

"I want 2021 to be the year I finally complete my hair journey. In December 2018, I got all my dead hair cut off just before my 30th, only to dye it blonde in March 2019, and start box-dyeing in late 2019 (thanks, pandemic). This year, I want to grow my hair long and strong, and hopefully get my natural colour back! This means sticking to my healthy hair routine I wrote about in this Beauty IQ article." - Hannah, Brand & Content Manager.

4. I Will... Face My Fear of Skincare Acids.

"My beauty resolution for 2021 is to get over my fear of strong at-home acid treatments. Whenever I hear 'peel treatment', I think of that scene in Sex and the City after Samantha has a chemical peel for an event and her face stays red for days..."
"But since I started working at Adore, I've been building cosmeceutical products into my routine and I reckon I'm ready to graduate to the mesoestetic resurfacing peel booster - it has 10 per cent glycolic acid and 2 per cent salicylic acid to slough away dead skin and promote cell renewal. Here's to waking up with brighter, glowier skin this year!" - Ellie, Assistant Brand Marketing Manager – Skincare & Wellness.

5. I Will... Make More Time for My Own Pleasure.

"I’m not exactly a newbie when it comes to adult devices, but I’ve always been a classic bullet kind of girl. Bullets are a great first time vibe as they aren’t too confronting and are easy to use. This year, I'm going to treat myself to a Womanizer Liberty to get way out of my comfort zone. Rather than vibrations, this device uses pleasure air technology to stimulate, which sounds full on, but apparently, it’s very easy to use and the results are well worth trying something new! Off I go then!" - Sam, Junior Category Manager - Skincare & Wellness.
