A scroll through our
Beauty IQ hair hub will quickly reveal that I am, indeed, in my haircare era, trialling
new serums, tools, and techniques, the whole shabang, and honestly, my hair has never looked better.
My strands are starting to feel and look healthier, stronger, and notably glossier, fully aware this is a not-so-humble brag, and I accredit a big part of my hair glow up to AVEDA's new
Miraculous Oil High-Shine Hair Concentrate, a rich oil that works to nourish, fortify against heat damage, and supercharge shine.
I've been road testing it for almost five weeks, and the compliments have ensued.
I was fortunate enough to be introduced to the oil at a very lush launch event at Frankie Salon in South Yarra, where the space was transformed into literal hair heaven and Miraculous Oils were in surplus, reflecting AVEDA's holistic approach to haircare.
Gentle wafts of AVEDA's signature Pure-fume aroma, with lavender, ylang-ylang, and petitgrain, engulfed the salon and lingered beautifully on strands.

And - to no surprise, I waltzed out of the salon a glossier, healthier-haired version of myself. But that was with a professional blowout - the true test came when I took the newbie home.

AVEDA Miraculous Oil High-Shine Hair Concentrate Review: Okay let's start by unpacking the '255% more shine*' claim. It's a impressive statistic - and one (based on how shiny my hair did look after use), I totally believe and co-sign.
*[As reported by AVEDA with Ex vivo testing on tresses versus unwashed hair].
I smoothed a few drops through my damp lengths and then ( as per AVEDA's pro styling tip) tapped a final drop over dry ends for added sheen. The result was next-level.
Lustrous, glass-like shine without that greasy residue that some oils leave behind.
The formula is on the richer side, so one to two drops is plenty. Any more and you're skirting into oil-slick territory (I found out the hard way on day two). That said, the payoff is worth the precision.
And the results aren't just surface-level. The concentrate is bolstered by Tsubaki Seed Oil (which is sustainably sourced from Jeju Island) to help hydrate, smooth and protect the hair’s surface, while added Daikon Seed Oil (harvested from cooperative farms in Oregon’s Willamette Valley) strengthens strands and adds natural luminosity.

My hair is naturally very dry and frizzy, so the increased hydration, manageability and smoothness has been a godsend. It was something I felt almost immediately while blow drying - less tug of war with my round brush - and lasted for a few days.
The oil claims to create 5x smoother hair and delivers up to 24 hours of anti-frizz protection which for me, has rung true.
As for heat styling, it protects up to 232°C, so you can use it pre-straightener or blow dryer without worrying. Bonus points: for being colour-safe, too.
Honestly, this lavish oil has really impressed me - it's equal parts science, shine and sensorial heaven!
And as with all things AVEDA, the formula doesn’t just talk the talk.
It's Leaping Bunny-approved, vegan and crafted using 98% naturally derived ingredients. It’s also bottled in 100% post-consumer recycled packaging. As a Certified B Corp™ brand, AVEDA continues to put people and the planet first.
