Let me tell you - never have I believed in the power of manifestation more than when the fragrance I have been begging the universe for, falls straight into my lap - STRAWBERRY ICECREAM NOTES?! Say less.
It is no secret that gourmand scents are having a major moment - serving all the warm and fuzzy feels.
This dreamy, creamy new scent from
Juliette Has a Gun is their first foray into the gourmand space, and to me, it's the ultimate sweet and nostalgic fragrance, but I’ll let the creator of the perfume explain the inspiration behind it better than I can...
What Does Juliette Has A Gun MIAMI SHAKE Smell Like?
Miami Shake Eau de Parfum notes:
Top: Wild strawberry.
Heart: Whipped cream, orange blossom, ice cream cone.
Base: Vanilla absolute, creamy musk.
"With Miami Shake, I decided to present the first really gourmand fragrance of the collection.
With Wild Strawberries as a top note, of course, they had to be wild like Juliette. An elevated fruity scent, silky like whipped cream and musky, with a long-lasting trail. As the composition came together, the woman behind the perfume appeared to me as well, playing hide and seek in her oversized Miami villa. Pastel colors, blue pool, and retro vibes. It’s never too much. Will her olfactory treat make you succumb?"
My Juliette Has A Gun MIAMI SHAKE Review.

Sadly, I don't have a Miami Villa to play hide and seek in (currently working on manifesting this too), but, this scent does transport me back to childhood Saturday afternoons, spent with my family sipping strawberry milkshakes after every netball game (truthfully, I could have lived without the netball part, but the promise of a post-game sweet treat has cemented itself as a core memory).
The fact that I was also blanketed in strawberry Impulse Body Spray back in those days (if you know you know) makes this new alliance between Miami Shake and I even stronger.
Fast forward to now, and there is something so deeply comforting about not just the creamy strawberry aroma of this perfume, but what the scent represents: playfulness, innocence, and pure joy.
With this in mind, and as the resident ‘sweet perfume obsessee’ at Adore, it’s not surprising that this fragrance and I were a match made in heaven.
After yapping on endlessly about this new scent, I also asked some of my friends what notes they got from it, and, their feedback was that it’s pleasantly more musky and creamy than they would have predicted, rather than leaning too ‘sugary’ - and almost good enough to eat (perhaps a welcomed surprise for my colleagues who’ve grown used to me arriving enveloped in the sweetest perfumes).
I was impressed by the staying power of the fragrance alone, but also found it layers beautifully, and excellent when spritzed on after applying a vanilla scented body butter.
If anyone else has been dreaming of smelling like a walking cloud of strawberries and cream, I highly recommend this EDP and seeing what dreamy and nostalgic feelings it evokes in you.
Final Verdict...
Juliette Has A Gun has crafted a more mature, more grown-up version of my old faithful scent (without that overwhelming sharpness of the strawberry in the body sprays of our youth).
To describe it in a nutshell, Miami Shake cleverly balances out the sweetness of the strawberry with creamier notes of warm vanilla to create something that feels fun, delicious, and perfect for daily wear.
