Did you hear the news?
Kérastase’s Gloss Absolu range has landed at Adore Beauty!
You likely would've seen the buzz online (we certainly have) and much like the rest of the internet, we have questions... 4 days of anti-frizz protection? Bounce and smoothness? Mirror-shine gloss with no weigh down? Is she reallyyyy as shiny as she promises?
Well look no further, here’s everything you need to know about the latest collection from
Kérastase.
Kérastase Gloss Absolu Review
I think it’s fair to say that the Glass Hair trend isn't going anywhere. Born out of the desire to achieve locks that are glossy, smooth and ridiculously shiny (and not wanting to choose just one), the trend has been all over my TikTok feed. Despite building my algorithm brick by brick - which is to say, I did this to myself - I couldn’t help but wonder (IYKYK), can we really have it all?
I’m pleased to share that in fact, we can. And that’s where Gloss Absolu comes in.

A 4-piece collection from the French architects of Hair, this range features a Shampoo, a Conditioner, a Glaze Milk (more on what this is and what it does later) and the star of the show, the Glazing Drops. Promising glossier, smoother - 100 hours, at that - and bouncier hair designed to combat frizz by plumping, tightening and glazing the hair in a three step process, what more could you want? Seems like a straight-forward, four step process to achieving glass hair at home.
So I put it to the test and have religiously used only these 4 products for the past two weeks (fine, and a little
K18 AirWash because she’s an oily gal) and here’s what I found:
Kérastase Gloss Absolu Bain Hydra-Glaze Shampoo

Firstly, it would be remiss of me not start with the scent - it's a light, citrus delight with notes of mandarin and florals. The same gorgeous scent wafts throughout the range, so something to bear in mind for the fragrance-averse. That said, it's not overpowering nor sickly sweet - just gentle and fresh.
The shampoo, or the Bain Hydra Glaze as it’s officially known, promised sky high level of foaming and does indeed provide a very satisfying lather. As instructed by my hairdresser, two shampoo rinses left my hair feeling soft, clean and scented in a way that I knew would linger.
Kérastase Gloss Absolu Insta Glaze Conditioner

I then proceeded to grab the conditioner, or the Flash Glaze as it is formally known. Definitely more of a liquid-esque conditioner, but I personally chalk that up as a positive with my slightly finer hair not appreciating a heavy or dense conditioner.
I also think the consistency lends itself to the gloss concept, with the application of the product going on smoothly and feeling almost like a product rather than a conditioner. Whether it be placebo or not, I was convinced I felt the gloss locking in.
Both the shampoo and conditioner are priced at $71 each.
Kérastase Gloss Absolu Anti-Frizz Glaze Milk All-In-1 Spray

As someone that’s been in the beauty industry for a few years now, I have a embarrasingly long, multi-step line up post shower to protect, smooth and add shine to my locks. Therefore you can understand that I was dubious about slimming that down to just one product - and a milk(?) at that.
But I was committed at this point so proceeded as instructed. Turns out, the Anti-Frizz Glaze Milk is a bit of an overachiever. Boasting to be an all-in-1, this product detangles, hydrates, smooths, fights frizz and flyaways AND is a heat protectant - what a show off.
But I must say, it did all that and some, applying incredibly light-weight and not weighing my hair down at all. I could then brush my wet hair smoothly (and gently!), encountering only few knots.
Knowing this product truly is an all in one, the $81 price point does make more sense knowing you can really minimise your post-shower product routine to just this one.
Kerastase Gloss Absolu Glaze Drops Hair Oil

But the hero, it must be said, is the Glaze Drops. I was the most excited to try this product out.
Packaged in a gorgeous, rose tinted circular dropper, I was curious to see how my hair would respond to this Hair Oil knowing that often, as mentioned above, my hair can feel quite weighed down by heavy or rich products.
One or two drops is all that’s required followed by a quick tousle through my curls, the scent of the collection was amplified and the gloss locked in. It wasn’t too heavy but my caveat here is quantity is key.
Coming in at $75, she is on the pricier side but a little goes a long way so once you’ve invested, this should last you a while.
Final Verdict
So, the verdict? I’m a fan. I have now used the collection three times consistently and have received at least one compliment on the shine of my hair - so I’ll take it! Naturally I’m biased because the collection is not only visually stunning, entirely packaged in a rose gold colourway, but is infused with Rose Oil, Glycolic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid. The consideration when including ingredients designed to retain moisture and deeply penetrate, coupled with the sensorial delight (to me) of the Rose Oil, makes it an easy winner. Lastly, it’s hard to argue with a new range from Kérastase - the brand offers an elevated, premium haircare experience so I’m excited to have the Gloss Absolu range available now at Adore Beauty for everyone to try.
