So, look. I did a thing.
I accidentally fell in love with the rudely expensive new Kérastase Chronologiste haircare range and now, my bank account hates me.
Even though receiving new product launches from brands so I can tell you if they're any good or not is part of my job, the thing about trialling bougie beauty products is you inevitably repurchase them after realising you can't live without them. (Touch dramatic, but you get the gist.)
This is exactly what happened when luxe haircare brand Kérastase recently released their most extravagant, luxurious product range yet - Kérastase Chronologiste.
Now that we're all in this together, allow me to tell you what makes these bougie black and gold bottles of hair product so darn good.
What Is Kérastase Chronologiste?

The Kérastase Chronologiste range is essentially the royal family of luxe hair products. Think more Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, less Prince Charles and Camilla.
Reformulated with the powerful healing molecule abyssine, hydrating yaluronic acid and vital concentrate pearls inspired by caviar, the revitalising products have been designed to clean and stimulate the scalp for your strongest, shiniest, most vibrant hair.
Performance aside, we also need to talk about how these hair products smell. All of the products in the Chronologiste range smell like watching an attractive person wearing the sexiest scent on earth walk away. It makes washing your hair a truly indulgent sensory experience.
Oh, and the chic black and gold packaging turns my shower into a solid 16/10, too.
Now, let's talk about each of the Kérastase Chronologiste products and why they're worth the investment.
1. Kérastase Chronologiste Pre-Cleanse Shampoo Régénérant.

If you're not already using a pre-shampoo, it's fine, but what have you been doing?
This deep cleansing product replaces your first shampoo to remove dead skin, product build-up, and environmental pollution. The
Kerastase Chronologiste Regenerating Pre-Shampoo 200ml contains charcoal, Vitamin E and hyaluronic acid to cleanse and nourish your scalp - the cream formula looks a bit like tar, and foams slightly when applied on wet hair.
Honest, my roots don’t get oily as quickly when I use this.️
2. Kérastase Chronologiste Bain Shampoo Régénérant.

Some hydrating shampoos are heavy and bring hair down, but not this one. You'll get a decent cleanse and a boost of moisture, without irritation or weight.
It smells like a dream and you only need a small 10-cent piece amount to lather up a luscious foam, so one bottle will last you ages.
3. Kérastase Chronologiste Masque Intense Régénérant.

Holy moly, this fancy hair mask tub costs more than my monthly internet bill but wow. Just... wow.
If you're already a fan of Kérastase hair masques, the
Kerastase Chronologiste Intense Regenerating Hair Mask 200ml will not disappoint. It's super thick, super creamy and ultra hydrating - I've been using it every second or third wash to bring the cost per use down.
One dollop of this left on damp hair for five minutes adds shine like nobody’s business and controls frizz for 48 hours. I’ve got a halo of baby/broken hairs at the moment so for me, it’s more like 24 hours, but I'll take it.
You can apply this rich, restorative masque from root to tip, but if you've got fine/limp hair that gets greasy quickly, apply from your ears down for best results.
4. Kérastase Chronologiste Thermique Régénérant Treatment.

In my opinion, this leave-in treatment is the real MVP here. If I was only going to repurchase one product from the range, the
Kerastase Chronologiste Regenerating Leave-In Heat Protector 150ml would be it.
Why? Because it's basically four hair products in one. Love me a multi-use beauty buy.
It's a leave-in conditioner. A frizz styling cream. A blow dry balm AND heat protectant up to 230 degrees Celsius. A pump or two of this product worked through damp hair will seal your hair cuticles for the smoothest, softest, swishiest at-home blow dry, ever.
5. Kérastase Chronologiste Huile De Parfum Oil.
There's a reason I don't have a photo of the
Kerastase Chronologiste Parfum Fragrance Oil 100ml for you... yep, I dropped it in the bathroom and now my tile grout smells like heaven.
Pressing just a few drops of this lush lime, rose and cedar-scented hair oil into dry hair is the juicy cherry on top of this luxe haircare routine.
Yes, the oil will soften and strengthen your hair while reducing breakage and adding shine you'll need sunnies for. But really, it's the woody, musky yet floral fragrance I get excited about.
It'll leave your hair smelling gorgeous all day - one Instagram follower even told me she'd fallen victim to this product's intoxicating powers after receiving a sample with her last Adore haul.
Of course, the proof is in the pudding. Here's how my hair looks after using the Chronologiste range and blow drying. Silky, bouncy and ridiculously good looking.

Now, for the kick in the guts... the price.
Are there more affordable hair care products out there? Without a doubt. But will I be repurchasing most of the range when the sad day they run out arrives? 100 per cent.
Not everyone will be able to justify investing in hair products, and that's OK. For me, I think of the Kérastase Chronologiste range like active anti-ageing skin care, but for my hair.
And when you think about how much we invest in skincare serums for our faces containing potent, hardworking, well-formulated active ingredients, why wouldn't we do the same for our hair?
